I think I've realized that I am in desperate need of a Mom's Group. ?I have a ton of?acquaintances?who are pregnant or have young ones but we're not close enough that we talk all the time. ?I have three sisters but none of them have babies so they just don't provide the same support I need.
I've looked online but every group I've found meets during the middle of the day. ?What about us working moms? ?I can't meet in the daytime during the middle of the week. ?I would love to have a group that gets together just once a month to talk about all things baby. ?I have a ton of family support and good friends but it's not the same as talking to other moms who understand what you are going through.
Any suggestions? ?Where do I find a Mom's group for working moms??
Re: In Need of a Mom's Group
Try posting this on your local board?
Or contact your hospital...my hospital gave me a pamphlet of info when were were going home and in it included a sheet about a Moms group.
Bloggin' It
Hmmm, are there baby stores around you that offer classes or meet-ups? There is a shop around me that has meet-ups during the week and one on the weekends...
What about a craigslist that may post meetings? Or check out www.meetup.com... and search for groups in your local area.
I work for a large company and there were 10 babies born in the last 2 years. So I just started a new mom's group at work! I know how you feel.
I would try craigslist.
I second trying meetup.com. I found a local group there that meets on Saturday afternoons. Or, if you can't find any, start one up yourself. I can almost guarantee you'll get responses.
Other than that, you might want to ask your pediatrician or call your hospital to see if they know of any local groups. My hospital hosts a few support groups, including some for PPD, BFing support, etc., but there's a couple for moms who want to connect with other moms.
Good luck!
first off, your siggy pic is gorgeous!
try www.meetup.com I found some mom's groups on that site, and I'm hoping to make some meet ups soon!
