Sorry..I'm new at this and I might be asking a stupid question.
From what I've been reading, its possible to ovulate earlier than the "normal" 14 days from your period.
Right now I'm 9 days past the start of my period and yesterday and today have had a lot of vaginal secretions.. the "elastic, stretchy" type that is talked about when you are about to ovulate.
Possible I could be about to ovulate.. or something else?
Re: Possible to ovulate early?
Do you temp? It's the best way to know if and when you ovulate so I would greatly advise it. You can acces fertility friend from any of our tickers in our siggy's. Its free and a great way to chart your cycle.
As for ovulating early, it is possible. I know some women on here ovulate before CD10.
The 14 days past your period is a crock. Lots of women ovulate earlier and later than day 14.

14 days is an average. Most women do not ovulate exactly at 14 day and many of us do not ovulate on the same day every cycle.
There is this really fab. book called "Take Charge of Your Fertility." It is amazing what I didn't know about my own body before reading it.
The signs you are seeing could me that you are going to O soon...but those signs can also happen several times in a cycle before you O. The only way to know if you did O is by charting- which they talk about in the above book...or you could check out fertilityfriend.com which has free tutorials.
You don't have to chart to get pregnant, but it would be good to have a better understanding of your body- just because it is your body.

This!
The whole "normal" 28 day cycle isn't normal for most women either. You can also read Taking Charge of your Fertility which will give you a lot of good, sound information on what your body actually does during a cycle. Also on fertility friend, the tutorials have a lot of good info. Chart! Chart! Chart!
I think the earliest I ovulated was CD 12. But each woman is different, and cycles vary for each woman as well. Fertile CM may mean that you're going to ovulate soon, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's happening today. I usually have fertile CM the whole week leading up to ovulation.
There's a lot of helpful information for newbies at the bottom of my siggy, so I recommend checking out the links. Even if you don't decide to chart right away, the FF Tutorials are an excellent resource to help you understand what your body is doing and what signs mean what. GL!
I say get busy...
