Hi everyone - I am not yet ready to introduce myself here, but I hope to very soon!
I am packing my hospital bag and wanted to ask if anyone could recommend some good products to use that might help prevent or reduce stretch marks after delivery. Would appreciate any advice you can offer! TIA! ![]()
Re: Advice for stretch marks?
I'm pretty sure there is nothing you can do to get rid of or prevent stretch marks... you can use a cream to keep the area moisturized and maybe it won't be as red/angry. The only way to get rid of strech marks is to remove the skin with the marks on them (like during a tummy tuck)
I use Palmer's tummy butter to help with the dry skin.

Like PP said, you really can't prevent/get rid of them but I found something that has started to help mine fade. I am using an old (sterilized) toothbrush and Olay creamy body wash, and rubbing it in circles over them (this is suppose to help encourage new skin growth which will help lighten them). Then when I get out of the shower I put Palmers stretch mark cream on them. I have been doing this for about a week and have already noticed them lightening up.
I know it sounds crazy, and to some kind of gross, but this is working for me!
Good luck!!

where did you hear to do this? Has it worked for others and that's why you tried? I am a little desperate- mine are pretty bad. It seems like it'd maybe work because you're technically gently exfoliating? Just might try it!
My mom told me to do this. I think she heard it from her dermatologist or something.

well, thanks! I went out and bought olay while grocery shopping so I'm going to try it before spending a lot of $$ on mederma or strivectin...thanks again for the tip!
