Last night we went on a hospital tour during our childbirth class - I was really surprised when I saw how small the labor & deliv. and recovery rooms were and how old that part of the hospital was.. The waiting room literally has 2 chairs in it and the whole area had an overall kind of depressing feeling. =( not what I was expecting...
I've seen other hospitals in my area that are much much nicer - it was kind of a shock. I switched Drs early in my pg and I knew this new Dr delivered at this hosp. but I never took a tour early on. I was focusing more on the Dr's credentials and if I like him, than the hospital. I'm OK with the Dr (can't say I totally love him though) but I don't know if it's worth switching at this point just due to the hospital... A lot of Drs won't even do informational meetings due to time/cost, so I think it might be kind of a pain to go thru a switch again..
Anyone else have the same experience w/ their hospital? or did anyone switch at the beg. of their 3rd tri?
Re: I'd like to switch hospitals...
Our hospital has a tiny waiting room, with no tv, only a few chair-things (like at the airport) and a couple of vending machines. It doesn't bother me at all, because I hope it will dissuade family from waiting at the hospital!!!
That having been said, the rest of my hospital is very nice, but I knew that already.
I personally don't think it's worth it to switch hospitals at this point, especially just because the rooms are small and old. I mean, how big of a room do you need? JMHO.
