Gave birth and said goodbye...

You might remember me...we found out a few weeks ago that there was no amniotic fluid around our baby and did not know the cause. I just wanted to update for everyone who was so kindly sending prayers our way...

I started having contractions Friday night...normally they would have tried to stop the contractions but our situation was a little different with having no fluid. It was determined that there was an infection, which I believe is what put me into labor in the first place. The doctors did offer to have a team available to try to go to whatever extremes to keep our baby alive and we opted not to do that. I was only 23 wks 2 days pregnant and we decided we wanted to be able to be with our baby until she passed. We gave birth to Brenna Grace on October 16th. She weighed 1lb. 1oz. and was only with us for a few short minutes.

I had a feeling we were having a girl, so a family member had made a beautiful gown for her...another family member had made her a blanket with her name on it so that we could take pictures of her before she passed. I'm SO happy I have those things now...and also that my instincts were right and we didn't have to wrap a baby boy in pink.

We will not know the actual cause of the lack of fluid for another few weeks. I hope everyone has smooth pregnancies and healthy babies...and I'm sure I'll be back soon enough. Thank you for all the prayers that were sent our way...I know that's what has helped comfort and carry me through.
