Week 21... just starting to get uncomfortable and not being able to sleep through the night. Otherwise, feeling great!

11/9 - nothing exciting. We'll schedule another u/s then to check on the placenta.

I had some very mild spotting at about 18 weeks, but they think it was due to my kidney stones finally being passed.

I didn't, only because my OB came HIGHLY recommended from family.
At what point do you start pumping after birth? Do I need to wait for my milk to come in?

We've had a hard time coming up with girl's names. We narrowed it down to two... one he loves and one I love. We started using them both and are going to "check back in" and see which one we like best.
What are you most excited about once LO is here?
To hold her! Also, to watch my H really turn into a Daddy. He is so excited and I'm really excited to watch him with her.
What is your Monday confession?
I started drinking my coffee-a-day today, again. I used to make it every morning for my H and I. Since I got pregnant I stopped. However, as of today I'm starting back up with it. I love the way it tastes, I love how it keeps me warm, and I love that with coffee and cereal I'm not starving at 10am.
Questions for next week?
How many pediatricians did you look at? I have two names (at the same clinic), but am I needing more? Also, what do you ask them?

When is your next appointment? possibly this weekWill anything special happen at that appointment?thinking there will be lots of appts in my future. u/s on friday showed baby's growth rate has slowed down and they have put me on a super high protein diet with limited activity, and that I might be a hemophilia carrier so now we need to start looking into that and possibly re-testing.
What are you looking forward to this week?Its just so great to have dh back home again. I'm looking forward to C's first field trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow but worried about it being a lot for me right now with trying to keep my activity limited!
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? platex drop in's this time! I hate born free and event because they leak. and like the idea of not having to clean bottles ALL the time!

What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? We used Playtex Drop-ins with DD and will probably do the same this time.
Anyone else experiencing bleeding or spotting? Yes - on and off with this pregnancy. Only downside is I had to get the Rhogam shot early.
Has anyone met with several potential OBs just to consult and see if you are "on the same page" before choosing? No. I went to one recommended by friends and was lucky enough to like her.
At what point do you start pumping after birth? Do I need to wait for my milk to come in?I think we started the morning after DD's birth. The lactation nurses will help you at the hospital and bring you all the goods. I only pumped colestrum (sp?) at first so you don't have to wait and it helps your milk come in quicker. I had a baby who was early and didn't really want to nurse so that may be why they brought the pump in early.
Did you and DH have a hard time coming up and agreeing to baby names? If so, how did you compromise? With DD, we waited until week 35ish. We had a decent list and narrowed down when we were in the car for a longer drive. We didnt' pick middle names until she was born though. With this one, I think we're already down to 2 but we're just playing around. We have plenty of time.
What are you most excited about once LO is here? Seeing DD with him and watching them grow up together.
What is your Monday confession? I ate a Reeses pumpkin for breakfast this morning and wish I had another one now!

23 Weeks. Nothing new, but my hip pain seems to be getting worse.
When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?
November 8th, nothing special. I have to do my 1 hour glucose test sometime the week before that appointment.

Decorating our house for Halloween.
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why?
I plan to try a couple of different types. Right now it looks like I will be starting out with Tommy Tippee, Dr. Brown, and Playtex drop in. I plan to breastfeed but we will need bottles for daycare.

No.

I only had the option of one OB in my area so I didn?t have this choice unless I wanted to travel an hour + for appointments and delivery.

Sharing the experience with my husband. I have a 12 year old DD from a previous relationship and I really look forward to sharing the entire parenting experience with my husband.

The recommedations I received weren't accepting new patients so I met with a different OB in the office and loved her! Had I not liked her I would have continued to look.

Baby Watch This Week! -
*JaimeCH is due October 27 - how are you feeling? Pregnancy-wise I'm feeling great! I have yet to be incredibly uncomfortable. However I got a cold last week and it beat me down a little, but I'm on the mend! Hopefully will be fully recovered in time for LO's delivery!
Pregnant Questions
What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 39 weeks on Wednesday. Just lots of BH contrax and some come with a little period-like cramping. Having lots of fun with loose BMs too - TMI!!
When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Friday. Just a regular weekly check up.
What are you looking forward to this week? Our appointment on Friday to see if I've progressed at all. We had our first internal last week and I was barely a fingertip dialated. My blood pressure was also a little elevated which concerned the OB, but my lab came back with no protein in my urine, so I'm hoping that all is well! Also, I'm have a pedi with my friend on Saturday, and going to the Seahawks game on Sunday!
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? We bought the Tommy Tippee bottles. I've heard good things about them, but our decision was probably based more on packaging at the store (which seems completely stupid). I figure that if/when we start bottle feeding if the Tommy Tippee bottles don't work, we'll move onto another brand and give it a try. We didn't invest a ton of money in it yet.
Anyone else experiencing bleeding or spotting? I didn't experience any spotting, but my OB would always tell me that if I do it is completely normal.

I go to GHC, and while I guess I could've been more selective in choosing my OB, I read up on each them and luckily got the one that I was most excited about and have been totally happy with her.
At what point do you start pumping after birth? Do I need to wait for my milk to come in? I think you can start pumping right after birth if baby isn't latching. I'm definitely no expert in this and am relying on the lactation consultant at my hospital to help figure it all out!

We went through a bunch of names on a baby name website and would say, "yes" or "no" and if it was a firm no by either of us it was off the list. My BFF had "given" me her favorite baby name because she didn't want kids, but loved the name Lily Marie - we both loved it and when we found out it was a girl the decision was easily made.
What are you most excited about once LO is here? Seeing what she looks like. It is so strange to me to have this LO inside of me and feel so connected, yet I can't even picture her face!
What is your Monday confession? Throughout my pregnancy I thought that this baby wouldn't come until November, but recently I've started thinking that she is going to come on the 23rd. We'll see - it may just be wishful thinking!

What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 8, nothing new. Same soreness and aversions, so far.
When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Thanks for including me above! 10/20 will be my final appt with the fertility clinic. It's a viability u/s and if it looks good, I'm done with IF and move to an OB's care.
What are you looking forward to this week? The u/s on Wed. I'm eager to see our munchkin again and hear that all is well. But it's bittersweet to say goodbye to the fabulous Dr's and nurses at the IF clinic. It's been a home-away-from-home for over a year!
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? Not sure, yet. We did inherit some to start (thanks to a generous Bumpie). :-)
Anyone else experiencing bleeding or spotting?This was mine. Luckily, I've only had the one small bleeding incident, so far. But the RE said once it happens early, it could happen throughout pregnancy. Just "one of those things."

We're pretty set on names we like, but agreed not to decide until 3rd tri. DH only had one name that he really wanted to use. Other than that, he was open. So, the names are mostly ones I really want, using his as a middle name (since I don't like it that much).
What are you most excited about once LO is here? So much! I'm looking forward to everything from BFing and even changing diapers, to cudding with baby after a bath, to putting baby in the stroller for walks, to showing off our munchkin to family and friends! :-)
What is your Monday confession? The more I think about telling our parents the good news, the more upset and stressed out I'm getting. I hate that both MIL and my mother are people who tend to play victim or martyr. I already feel like they will make this about themselves (in one way or another) and not just simply be excited about a new baby! DH and I spent our whole dinner out, yesterday, talking about this.

What cycle are you on? Waiting to O or 2WW? 2ww: 3DPIUI. Only about 8 more to go till I POAS
What are you looking forward to this week? W's birthday. Inlaws are visiting so I won't have to do hardly any house work!
What is your Monday confession? I'm desperately trying to convince myself that this IUI will work and I'll be PG in about a week and a half. The power of positive thinking, unless it ends poorly, then I'll be crushed even more than normal having convinced myself of the idea for 2 weeks.
Questions for next week? How many DPO, DPIUI or what ever did you get your first BFP?
Keep your eye out on Haute Look and Zulily. I always see adorable stuff on there but since there is nothing to buy for yet, it's hard to commit. But once you know what you are having you might be able to snag some great deals!

Right now we have a list of about 5 favorites, though we each like certain names more than others (just not the same names). I think at this point we will keep a running list of names we can both agree on and wait to narrow it down until Jan or Feb.
What are you most excited about once LO is here? Just having her here and being able to hold her.
What is your Monday confession? When DH (an only child) told MIL that LO was a girl, she was very happy because she "always wanted a daughter" and now she will "finally have her little girl." I really want to scream at her that this is not her little girl, this is her granddaughter but that it is DH and my little girl. She lives in VA but is retired and I really fear she will just come out here to stay for a month or more when the baby is born. I am really much happier having her 3000 miles away.

What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 14 weeks tomorrow! Nothing new this week just the same old growing pains and whatever else. I did have some back spasms Friday night that were extremely painful and almost didn't allow me to sleep. Plus some really bad heartburn last night.
When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Next month don't remember the exact day right now. Just another checkup and pap.
What are you looking forward to this week? Being on vacation. Not having to go to work for any reason what so ever.

When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? - tomorrow.. I think I'm going to cave and request an internal because with him dropping, plus all the pressure and cramping, I'm hoping there has been SOMETHING happening!
What are you looking forward to this week? - being one week closer to the finish line!
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? - we bought Playtex Drop Ins.. I like the idea of easy clean up and ability to just drop a bag in and go.. my niece uses Avent and I hate them!

I just chose the practice that's associated with my hospital.. then I had to choose between a midwife and an OB and then I had to choose a specific one.. my decision was based on who I'd met before while working in L&D and then the final decision between 2 of them was based on one having Mondays off which doesn't work well with my schedule since I'm ALWAYS off on Mondays and would prefer appointments on that day

What is your Monday confession? - I had a patient "fire" me at work last night.. she pretty much was pissed off at the doctor, took it out on me and made the rest of my night MISERABLE, threatened to report me to the CEO and told everyone she didn't want me back in the room.. confession part is that I was 2 seconds from grabbing my bottle of water, dumping it in my lap and faking that my water had broken so I could go home early!
What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 37 - nothing new, the pains just are stronger. My back is sore all.the.time.
When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Wednesday - no, although I'm hoping baby has dropped by then and the internal will show that something is happening.
What are you looking forward to this week? I *think* my dad finally has finished the dresser and will be bringing it over from Spokane - which would make our nursery pretty much finished!
What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? Either Playtex drop-ins or the Tommee Tippee. I know that kids can be picky about bottles, but I hate the Avent ones (used them with kids at daycare and when I nannied) and the Dr. Brown's (too many parts to clean!).
Anyone else experiencing bleeding or spotting? I've had a little here and there, but nothing major. My midwives said it was all normal.
Has anyone met with several potential OBs just to consult and see if you are "on the same page" before choosing? I did this with my midwives. The OB I was referred to when we were TTC only specialized in fertility and didn't do births, which I was actually glad about. She would not have been my first choice, and if I hadn't gotten pregnant when I did, I was seriously considering finding someone else.
At what point do you start pumping after birth? Do I need to wait for my milk to come in? My midwives said the earliest they want me to start pumping is 4 weeks.

Yes, but it was mostly, "How about ----?" until we came up with lists we could both agree on, and from there we narrowed it down every few weeks until we settled on something. I should probably say that we're still not fully decided on a middle name, although it's down to 2-3 and we're both pretty happy with all of them.
What are you most excited about once LO is here? Baby snuggles! Not working for a bit!
What is your Monday confession? I just ate 3 Yorks out of my parent-purchased "nut-free just-in-case" snack cupboard...and don't plan on replacing them.
What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 21. I have been woken up by the dreaded leg cramps a few times this week. I think I pulled my calf muscle. It hurts still. I am going to call the doc tomorrow to see if they want me to come in to check for blood clots. I don't think it is but I guess I better be safe.

What type/brand of bottles are you using and why? Born Free... worked well for us last time, not all of the bottles at the time were BPA free, and that was important to me. They seemed to work well going between nursing and bottles.

Nope, I knew I wanted midwives and had heard great things about Evergreen and the midwives there. I met with them and was happy, so I stuck with them. Loved them so much that I am back for the second pregnancy
At what point do you start pumping after birth? Do I need to wait for my milk to come in? Last time, I started pumping somewhere around 4 weeks or so

We do not have anything yet this time, but last time I had a bunch of names I liked and DH vetoed most of them. He didn't like Mattea at first either, but it grew on him and now he loves it. It took him saying it out loud a few times for it to grow on him.
