Apple Hill?

I think we're going to take Max next week, when we go visit the ILs... when I google "Apple Hill" all I find is the Growers association with TONS of places to choose from!

Can someone give me a name more specific than just "Apple Hill" so I can find this place? LOL

Thanks!

Re: Apple Hill?

  • The majority of the apple growers are on Apple Hill.  There are several exits you can take to get onto the hill, then drive around until you find a place you want to stop at.

Two of my favorites are Boa Vista and High Hill Ranch. Right now they also have pumpkin patches going and some ranches still have other fruits and berries besides apples.

  • Thank you for asking this!  I've been googling "Apple Farm" trying to remember what city it's in...

  • If you can find Fricksgirl's post for Apple Hill recs, the bumpies gave a bunch of recs of the places there.  I went to applehill.com, printed the map and then highlighted the places the bumpies recommended and made notes next to those places (i.e. apple donuts at Abels, produce at Boa Vista, etc).  I'll see if I can dig up the post and c&p it in an edit...

ETA:  here it is.  I used this post to pick all our places, and we stopped at a couple more that just looked interesting.  Have fun!!

  • We just went yesterday and had a blast.  The donuts at Rainbow Orchards are no joke!  Also, Plubell's changed hands and is now Apple Ridge Farms and have the best apple dumpling evah!  We did u-pick at Pine O Mine for the first time yesterday and it was perfect.  The trees are super low to the ground and L was able to pick the apples without any help.  They're super duper nice there too, we'll go back this summer for berries.  They also have a killer BBQ truck for lunch.

  • It's fun!  We just went and had a blast.

    On nestie recs, I did:

Rainbow for the doughnuts (go there first and DON'T miss them!) and cider.

    Abel's Apples for kid activites.

El Dorado for a train ride and lunch.

Boa Vista for produce and pie.

In retrospect I probably would have eaten at Able's Apples, their food looked way better than what we got at El Dorado.  So switch those two around, although Abel's gets CROWDED!  Alex LOVED the hay maze.

Have fun & give me your report when you're done!  Wha hoo!!
