AF weirdness (m/c related?) - help me figure this out

I have to start this off by saying I kind of forgot about my m/c until just as I was about to post this...now, it occurs to me that all these things have happened since my m/c, so perhaps they are related?

For over a year after my first pp AF my periods were regular, and painless.  The last few months have been wacky:  not as regular (last month was my longest cycle since pre-pg, and this one is looking like it's going to be the shortest) plus LOTS of pre-AF crampiness and spotting.

I originally was going to ask whether these could be signs of menopause.  And, of course, they still could be, but now I wonder if it's normal to have strange periods for a while after a m/c?  I hope so, b/c I don't like the other possibility... Or, it could just be "one of those things.'

Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).

  • I would think too that after m/c your period would change. My period was different after 2 of my miscarriages. It was different after each delivery. I also haven't gotten my period since my surgery almost 2 months ago and i called my doctor and asked his response was the following "any body changing event can change how your period is!"

No kidding - that's really interesting!

  • I'm not too sure, but I know many people who have weird/different/unpredictable periods after a m/c....I'm inclined to think that's what going on.

yes, how it all started is i called and asked for RX to bring on my period and the nurse said didn't you just have surgery? I told her hernia and gallbladder removal. She told me no without even asking the dr. I asked for the dr to call me and he went on about how you have to give your body sometime to go back to normal! UGH!  Hope that helps. How long has it been since your m/c i know it wasn't over the summer. He did tell me that if i don't have it after by 6 month point than he will give me something unless i want to get pregnant
