Changes when going off birth control pill?

I am going off of my birth control pill next week when I finish my current pack because my husband and I have decided to start TTC. Did anyone have any problems or notice any changes after stopping their birth control pill? I am nervous because I have been on birth control for 12 years straight.

personally for me, i didn't have much of a problem when i came off. My face broke out a little bit.. but my cycles returned back to normal right away. I just stopped mine in august, but i wasn't on nearly as long as you were.

My face broke out after a little after about 2 months of being off the pill. I hadn't had a pimple in about 5-6 years so it was really odd for me.

Be prepared, you could notice very little or lots of stuff could happen! I had breakouts, a 3 or 4 day "coming down" feeling that I was really emotional (biitchy), and weird cycles. Hope your transition goes as smoothly as possible. GL

I Oed like 5 days later (I get wicked ovlation cramps so im pretty intune with it plus charting) and now my period is late (I dont have a 28 days cycle, Ive always had a 21 day one which is SUPER annoying and I think IM oing today. SO its like a double cycle or my body forgot to have a period. But also, I was on seasonale so maybe its just trained now.

So your cycles might be really screwed up. But other than that everything is ok.

I have gone off my BCP that i have been on for 3 years straight (doc didnt want me to have a period due to endometriosis, so i skipped the "fake" pills and would start a new pack)...so needless to say i haven't had a true period in three years. But anyway...I have been off of them for about two weeks and havent really noticed anything different.

Bit of a warning though...I have been instructed to start TTC asap due to the endo but was warned that my cycle is out of wack and i could drop more then one egg (high risk of twins). Usually they tell you to wait two or three months for your cycle to get back to normal before trying. Just thought I would share what I was told by my doc!

I was on BCPs for 14 years straight and when I stopped, I didn't get a period for about 76 days. After that, my cycles were erratic and loooong. It's different for everyone. It's been a year for me and I'm staying around 35-40 days cycles, but still not very consistent. Really sucks! Good luck to you though.

Pretty much exactly this. I can't remember how long I'd been on BC. Everyone is different, but I hope you don't have too many issues!

I have been off it since the beginning of July. My first period off BCP was a light. I still haven't had my second period off BCP. I'm on pometruim right now and will hopefully have AF by Monday or Tuesday. I'm on CD 72 in cycle #2 off BCP. My face was super oily the first month off BCP. It's still oily, but not as bad.
