  •                My mom has had 4 c-sections,and getting her tubes tied and a hysterectomy all throughh the same incision so thats 6 all 2gether you should be fine. But if it really concerns you ask the doctor

  • Hm Victoria Beckham had 3 I guess.

My OB told me about delivering a woman's 4th c-section and she made it sound both (a) highly unusual and (b) highly unadvisable medically speaking.

  • I have a friend who has had 3, and they said she should carefully think about a 4th...and no more than that.  I personally know nothing on the subject, though.

  • There is no set number.  Many doctors say 2 because the issue is the build up of scar tissue.  Any time you have a surgery, scar tissue will form.  Repeatedly going back to the same incision can cause a dangerous amount of scar tissue.  It doesn't mean it will be dangerous.  It just means that it can build up and cause complications.

There are also issues with cutting into the bowels and organs around the c-section site which can occur on any c-section.  C-sections are common but they are still major abdominal surgery and there can always be complications.

However, every doctor has their own cut off and the only alternative is a V-BAC which many doctors will avoid at all cost.  I mean, if you're pregnant, they have to deliver the baby one way or another!

  • I asked my doc this, and she said I could have 4, depending on the state of my uterus.

  • My mom had 3 before she was told she couldn't have anymore and had to have her tubes tied. A coworker's wife was told the same thing.
However, that Duggar lady has had like 5. I think it varies vase by case and by what a doctor is comfortable with.
  • I think it varies by doctor. I know my OB's wife had 3. With each c/s the risks increase. Scar tissue, placenta issues, etc. I would talk to your doctor and find out what he is comfortable with.
  • I had three and my dr said : "so I'll see you soon for #4??"
  • My Mom had 3 back in the early 80's.

I have had two. I have heard that no more than 4 is ideal but I'm sure people do it all the time.

  • My OB advises against more than 3, but he won't refuse them.  It's your call.

  • I had 3 of them, but have decided not to have any more children because with every c/s there are risks and more scar tissue to go through
  • A family fried has five kids, all delivered vie c/s. Doctors told her it was a bad idea for any further.
