I was very bummed that I had to have a c/s with my 2nd and my mom keeps telling me that I can only have one more c/s (i have no idea why)..Anyway, my ideal number of children is 4..maayyyybe 5 hah..So do you know anyone who has had a c/s and have 3+ kids?
Re: How many times can you have a c/s?
Hm Victoria Beckham had 3 I guess.
My OB told me about delivering a woman's 4th c-section and she made it sound both (a) highly unusual and (b) highly unadvisable medically speaking.
There is no set number. Many doctors say 2 because the issue is the build up of scar tissue. Any time you have a surgery, scar tissue will form. Repeatedly going back to the same incision can cause a dangerous amount of scar tissue. It doesn't mean it will be dangerous. It just means that it can build up and cause complications.
There are also issues with cutting into the bowels and organs around the c-section site which can occur on any c-section. C-sections are common but they are still major abdominal surgery and there can always be complications.
However, every doctor has their own cut off and the only alternative is a V-BAC which many doctors will avoid at all cost. I mean, if you're pregnant, they have to deliver the baby one way or another!
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
However, that Duggar lady has had like 5. I think it varies vase by case and by what a doctor is comfortable with.
My Mom had 3 back in the early 80's.
I have had two. I have heard that no more than 4 is ideal but I'm sure people do it all the time.
