Why do people get stupid when you have a baby?

Another rant about the IL's..

So today they come over, Karly is napping.. While my fiance is in the bathroom his sister goes into her bedroom and WAKES her up!! WTF!! I was so pissed off when I heard that.

Anyways, then they want to go to the pumpkin patch tomorrow and they know I have to work and they know damn well that I want to be there for Karly's first trip to the pumpkin patch, because we went through the same thing last week.. So his sister tells him to just go and not tell me about it.. Luckily, my fiance was like wtf you're dumb lol.. They are just really annoying us lately, and we are seriously thinking about moving a couple hours away from them, so they stop bugging us!

    We have this same issue with my IL's. They wanted to take Emma for her first Santa pic and I said no. She wasn't 2 weeks old yet. MIL was like "      :( But we'll miss her first Christmas with Santa." I told her "Sorry but she's not going to see Santa and you're staying here past New Year's so I doubt you'll miss her first Christmas."

    They want to do the firsts with Emma and I tell them no. MIL starts to wring her hands, look sad and then in a slow whiny voice it's "Well. Ok...But.." then she trails off as to why they came to visit, their reason for being here and they want to do firsts with Emma. "No. You had your sons to do firsts with. Emma is my daughter and I get to do firsts with her."

    This year they are only coming for Emma's first birthday and not staying for Christmas. Our other sons...16 and 9 asked "Uh, so they are only coming to see Emma and not us?" Awesome, way to go IL's.

    They keep saying they want to move down here. If they do? We are immediately moving hours away in the opposite direction. I can't take his Mom in large doses at all.

    I'm glad your fiance stands up for you, because you would have a serious problem if he didn't. I can't believe they were going to take her and not tell you.

    BTW, your daughter is adorable, and I love that dress!

    WOW! I would totally be ticked if they took her without telling you..why do ppl think thats ok? Grrr

    Yeah I'd be super PO'd.  Mommy and Daddy should always get to do the firsts, unless they don't mind (I would mind, but I know a lot of people don't care if they see the "first" everything).  I'm glad your fiance said no!!
