Toddlers: 24 Months+

How often do you dress your child in jeans?

My daughter gets so excited when she gets to wear jeans, I'm really not sure why.  She only wears them when we go places on the weekends.  During the week she is at the babysitter's and I put her usually in knit pants or leggings so she is comfy.  What about your child?  Plus she plays outside a lot and she only has 2 nice pairs of jeans that fit her right now.

  • DS1 had 2 pairs of jean shorts in regular rotation for spring/summer and for the fall/winter, he has at least 3 pairs.  I <3 jeans.  He just looks so darn cute in a polo shirt and jeans! Big Smile

  • DD goes to daycare FT, and she wears jeans once or twice a week.  I am comfortable "playing" in jeans, so I don't see why she wouldn't be.

  • She probably gets excited about wearing jeans because she associates it with her getting to go places on the weekends.

It varies when my DD wears jeans, usually depending on what top I have her wear and if jeans or cotton pants/leggings works better.

  • My DS wears them just about every day right now (I plan to get him some cords or cargo pants, but haven't yet). He only wears sweats for his tumbling class or when we are just being really lazy around the house.

DD already has a couple of pairs and wears them a couple times a week.

  • Hardly ever, because I can't find any that stay up on her. I have adjustable waist, belts, you name it. As soon as she bends over or squats down, major butt crack. I can't stand looking at it all day so I usually put her in leggings or knit pants or a dress.

  • hardly ever. either they are too long or they don't fit around his belly. sadly, i know that feeling all too well! he is much more comfy in "soft" pants as we call them.

  • A couple times a week, we too usually send him to day care in track type pants.  His jeans are mainly for the weekend or evening activities.

  • DD wears jeans a few times a week. She's at school twice a week now and we generally walk there (and it's a bit too cold for leggins in the mornings), so I usually put her in jeans. The days we don't have to go anywhere she's usually in leggings or skirts at home. When we go out, it really depends on the weather, I might put her in jeans or a skirt with tights or lighter pants. She doesn't really care what she's wearing as long as she gets to put them on herself!
  • DS has a ton of jeans because I bought a big lot of clothing from someone on CL a while back.

That being said, he normally only wears them on weekends. Occasionally if we are going somewhere right after daycare, I will put them on him for the day. But there's really no guarantee that they'll be presentable after the day at daycare anyway.

  • DS wears them 5-6 days/week.  Last winter he wore them only like half the time, if that.  He was chubby so I don't think they were too comfortable, plus we had other options, like cute one pieces.

If I had a girl she'd probably wear them less because there are so many other cute options!!

  • Daily.

Brittyn rips holes in cotton pants and skirts are a little too cold for the weather right now, so she's almost daily either in jeans, cords, khakis, or the likes.

  • just about every day. He wears them to school. When he comes home, he sometimes switches to sweats.

I think it will be a little different with DD. I don't see her wearing jeans as much. There are more girls options.

  • Not as often as I'd like!  I've had a hard time finding jeans that fit DD - she's got a big belly and all the jeans I've found just seem to restrictive for her.  She complained before that they were too tight and refused to wear them for the longest time.  I only have 1 pair that fit her now so she wears them about 1x/week or 1x every 2 weeks.
  • He's mostly in jeans or shorts.  i need to get him some more comfy pants.
  • Right now never.  She doesn't have any in her current size.  She is a shortie so pants in general are a PITA.  I agree that for some reason I think jeans are constricting for toddlers to play in.  Plus for girls I love getting cute pink, purple, etc pants.  There are a lot of good options in softer materials.

  • DD wears them all the time. We also have some cords and khakis but they are basically similar. She's in daycare FT and they look comfy on her and I like how they look. I don't really like leggings because of how her diaper stands out and I don't buy her a ton of dresses.
  • I would say 5 out of the 7 days.  I don't take him out side in "active wear" pants.  He has 2 pairs of non jeans pants like cargo pants as well.

  • When it's cooler (i.e., not right now. lol), he wears jeans and khakis all the time with polo shirts or t-shirts. He never goes into public (not even to the babysitter) in knit pants. I don't allow it. lol
    I like privacy. A lot.
  • DS wears jean at least half the week. I think he has about 5 pairs of jeans.
