we give DD 2 tablespoons of rice cereal mixed with BM (going to try oatmeal soon) around dinner time - she seems to like it, eats it all up with a spoon.
when do i start giving her some in the morning too?
I gave DS oatmeal at first... 2 TBS with formula once a day. After two weeks, I started giving him 1 TBS fruit with it. Waited another week, started giving him two feedings with solids. One in the morning with oatmeal and fruit. One at dinnertime with vegetable. He is now eating 2 TBS oatmeal with 2 TBS fruit and then 2 TBS vegetable.

But considering your babe isn't even 4 months old, i wouldn't push it yet.
I agree with this.
I introduced rice cereal into BM (and later, formula) at first but it was a while beore I used a spoon to feed DS with rice cereal, and later, mixed a little basic baby food.
I would wait until at least 4 months so as not to rush it, but it's ultimately up to you.
We started when DD was 3.5 months with the OK of her pedi (she had reflux, had MORE than doubled her birth weight, no tongue thrust, and was trying to 'eat' when we put an empty spoon in her mouth) and he told us when she was "good at it" we could move to two feedings a day. She was good at it very quickly.

This. My DD is 5 months old and when she was taking oatmeal/rice cereal, she wouldn't eat more than 1 Tbsp (diluted in 2 Tbsp formula) per day. Now that she's on veggies, she still won't eat more than 1 oz. in one sitting. I wasn't planning to ramp her up to two solid meals a day until she turned 6 months old.

We started 2x a day yesterday. Sarah will be 5 months tomorrow. She gets cereal and friut in the morning and we're going to do veggies at night. When she turns 6 months we'll start meats.
Re: feeding solids question - going to 2x a day...
