Re: PG-Mom-TTC check in

  • I'm not getting my hopes up, but Caroline went to sleep at 10:00 PM on Sunday night and 9:00 PM last night and she slept until 10:00 AM yesterday and is still sleeping as I type this right now.  I was really hoping to make her permanent bedtime 9:00 PM so that me and Bri can spend time with her at night and still have an hour to ourselves before falling asleep, so fingers crossed!  Strangely, I heard her awake around 2:00 AM last night, but it never went past talking and when I hadn't heard her for a while, I went in to check on her and she was back to sleep.

Bri had an awful cold last week, which I in turn got on Saturday.  I think C now has it.  She was running a slight fever last night (99.6) and was being a little fussier and sleepier than normal.  I assume that it's inevitable that when a primary caretaker who is with a baby all day every day gets sick, the baby will, too.  I'm hoping that this passes quickly.

I now have less than 2 weeks left of maternity leave and I'm getting a bit miserable about it.  This is seriously the worst!

Lots of luck to our TTCers!!

  • Now I'm really on cycle #3 - I think my body is still bleeding a bit out of habit during the week I would have had AF on the pill, and then I get a real AF soon after. Hopefully the pre-period bleeding stops soon, but I'm early off the pill, so some weirdness is to be expected.

This cycle could be tricky - LOTS of people visiting. I'm trying to be more relaxed and think I'll even start researching a possible trip to Alaska or Japan that we'll take next summer if I don't get pregnant by March or so. That way there will be something to be excited for regardless of what happens with TTC.

  • AHHH!  Can't believe I am next on the list!  No need to change my due date (I still believe it's the 25th), but the OB's office is keeping their original date of the 20th and it's unlikely they will let me go much past that due to the GD.  So, by a week from tomorrow-ish, Baby Boy should be here!  I cannot wait!

Good luck to all the TTCers!  Lots of baby dust heading your way!

    10/20 is a great b-day!  (It's mine :)

  • Nothing new to really report this week!! G is now officially sleeping in her crib at night, and she transitioned beautifully with it! She still STTN which is wonderful.....She is trying to crawl more and more each day, it is so cute!!
  • My itttybitty baby is sick.  She has a runny, runny nose and  slight fever - 100.4.  So today is going to be a rough day.  Last night she was super fussy and wanted to be at the boob all night long.  So she slept with us and I got no sleep.  I don't really like sleeping with her becasuse of this.

I have to make a trip into town today to drop off some paperwork for a new job I am trying out.  So maybe I will take a little drive and bank on a car nap.

There isn't much worse than a runny nose.  I always take meds for it to make me able to breathe.  I wish there was something to  give her.

  • So we tried painting the crib and dresser this weekend. The dresser looks great - but the crib not so much. A little more rustic than I planned. We'll have to try and fix a few spots - if I can find some patience. :) We took our CPR class this weekend - great class and feel like I would actually know what to do if I need to. Otherwise lots of kicking and our shower is this weekend with the family. Hopefully everyone will be on their best behavior. :)

  • I have a doctor's appointment today.  We're having an early 4D ultrasound today, just to confirm that Miss L is a girl.  I'm so excited to see her!  Dr. keeps reminding me that she's going to look a little "skeleton - y" due to it being so early, but, I don't care.  I love getting to see her.

I felt the first outside kicks on Sunday.  She must have been performing an installment of "River Dance"  or something.  Brett wasn't around to feel, but, now it's only a matter of time.

As long as Miss L is "still a girl", I'll do a post later to tell you all the name we've decided on for her.  I'm in love with it and can't wait to tell the world.

We leave on Thursday for Chicago.  My family shower is this weekend and I can't WAIT to see my family and my friends.  I'm so excited!

Good luck to our TTC ers!!!!

  • I have an appointment on Friday to discuss the miscarriage and to get some answers.

I don't want to TTC again until my ovulation gets normal 'cause if I get pregnant again with my late ovulations (CD27) I will most likely loose the baby again.

Hopefully next cycle I can start treatment...if not we are looking into December to be able to TTC again.

  • I'm happy to report that I've almost made it through the first trimester. Yay! At my last appointment I got to hear the heartbeat again. It's always a relief for me, because I have had minimal symptoms the entire pregnancy. It's good to get confirmation that I'm really cooking a baby in there.

My NT scan is scheduled for next Friday, and I'm actually dreading it. I'm excited for a longer ultrasound, but I really don't want to get any worrisome numbers. I have enough to worry about this pregnancy, and I'm not sure how I'll handle any more bad news. On the other hand, I'm a planner so I like to know what to expect.

I must have missed when your miscarriage was confirmed - I'm sorry :(. I hope ovulation gets normal asap.

  • How am I the next to have a one year old!?  Still so not ready.

As for us this has been quite the week.  We have 6 teeth that are coming in at once and N has been MISERABLE!  Two finally broke through yesterday but there are still 4 more that have yet to break through.  He's had a fever and all the extra drainage cause yet another ear infection!  The pedi told us we might have to put in tubes...I'm holding that as a last resort.  Hopefully these teeth will come out and life will get back to normal.

Good luck to all of our TTC's!

Katy, I can't wait to see little Miss L's name.

As for Aislyn, she has slept through the night for the entire week this week.  Normally she gets up one night a week around 5 for a top up, but I think we have figured out to give her lots before bed and she is a happy sleepy little girl.  She has been drolling like crazy though, so that has been interesting.

  • All is well here. Just moseying our way to 3rd tri. DH and I may squeeze in a babymoon in the next few weeks. Baby is laying transverse, like in a hammock. Guess she's still into the island lifestyle ;).
  • I'm officially in the 3rd trimester, and I can't believe it. Time is flying by. I have a cold again, and lots of nosebleeds, but other than that things are good. We had our second childbirth class last night, and it was great. We talked about epidurals/catheters/pain meds for labor, and then got to see where we will be for labor and then the rooms we'll have for the rest of our stay at the hospital. It was really reassuring to see it.

And, my name is creeping up to the top of the list for these check-ins. Lots to do, lots to do.

Good luck to those TTC, and I hope everyone is doing well!

  • Not much new here.  Over the weekend we took Caroline to the pumpkin patch.  It was a totally different experience this year from last year when she was only about 3 months old.

I'm fighting some sort of yucky allergy/cold thing right now and it royally sucks.  Next Tuesday is my GD test so I'm really looking forward to that.  (yeah right!)  I'm over 24 weeks now, so I've hit that magical viability mark which is a bit of a relief.

  • Nia is 2 months old today! I posted a video here. She is "talking" so much now and I love her little personality. She really is a sweet baby and everywhere we go people stop us because they think she's a doll. I keep waiting for her to turn on us, but for now everything is going well.
