The thoughts of "comfort food" turn my stomach when I had m/s. I lived on smoothies, fresh fruit (especially watermelon and strawberries), and jello; ice water helped too. Occassionally, I would have toast or a few saltines, but really fruit and water were the best for me. Also, I don't know if it really worked or was just a placebo effect, but my nausea seemed to decrease when I was wearing seabands. If you haven't already, you may want to consider adding a B6 supplement as well. Hope you feel better soon.
This has been hard for me. I am a big wuss and hate being sick. So much so that this may be my only child!! I have been living on strawberry jello, saltines, toast, bagels. Sometimes I'll eat actual normal food and it'll go down ok....like pizza I love. I have been wearing the sea bands non-stop for 3.5 wks now...I'm not sure they help too much since I'm still nauseated and puking at times, but I'm afraid to go without them. The pharmacist told my DH when he was buying them for me that the B6/unisom combo also helps for some. I haven't asked my dr about that though. I have found it is important to force some food down which helps a bit...even if it's a few crackers. Something in your stomach is better than nothing. I have heard others say sour hard candy or lemonade helped them, but it didn't for me. GL, I hope you find something that works for you!
Re: MS
I had a lot of food aversions. I usually only wanted to eat fruit and cold things (like jello, yougurt, etc) Luckily I wasn't throwing up a lot.
Also, try not to let yourself get too hungry. Even if it is hard to eat, try to eat at least a small snack every few hours.
I lived on mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and sprite for about 16 weeks. I also lived on Zofran and phenegran.
