DH mentioned to another dad on Reagan's 3yr soccer team that she was going to nap really well after the game and he looked at him chocked and said there is not way that his daughter would take a nap unless for a really long car ride. At MDO they do not have nap time either in the 3-4 room though she will come home and nap when we get home after 2pm. So when is the norm for them to stop?
Re: When do naps completely drop?
Ha! That's what my DH told me - that he took a nap til he was 16.
Crazy Christmas Kids!
Oh yes, I will be sad when it's gone.
Crazy Christmas Kids!
I have no idea about kids, but I'm 33 and I still love naps! I wish the little ones could understood how great naps are.

Amen!
Her MDO doesn't nap at 3-4 class either and so we try to keep her up afterwards and have her go to bed super early those days (around 7 or 7:30).
All other days, she still has one nap that can last from one hour to 3 hours. I guess she would drop her nap once she goes to kindergarten daily?
We had nap time in kindergarten. I never actually napped, though. Instead I got in trouble for talking to my cousin and then telling the teacher it was her fault for putting us next to each other in class.
A lot of trouble.
Everyone is different. Hannah stopped napping at 2 1/2, but Sam napped until he was 3 1/2. (Although he got pretty cranky late at night, he still refused to nap.)
When Sam was in preschool (age 3-4) in Houston, they had a nap time, but then they also had what they called an "up room," where the kids who didn't nap anymore went to do quiet activities. Here in Singapore, Hannah's preschool class (age 3-4) just has an hour nap (for those who don't go home at 12), and last year in Sam's pre-K class (age 4-5), they had 30 minute rest time, but no nap time. This year in kindergarten, no nap time.
