We started the transition to cows milk last week and are doing 1/2 whole milk, 1/2 formula. Yesterday his poop was more solid and there was less of it. I figured it was because of the milk but since he had gone twice in one day, I didn't worry too much. Today I find one ball and it's dark brown, same thing happens a few hours later. I think my baby is constipated at this point. So I gave him an ounce of prune juice in his bottle and put diluted apple/pear juice in his sippy and a few hours later he pooped big time. This time it was watery (not like diareah, but like he had before the transition) and there was alot of it. My poor baby looked so relieved, lol.
His entire bottle isn't even whole milk yet so I'm worried what will happen when he gets to 100% cows milk and no mor formula. So my question is, how do I keep him regular when he's on cows milk?

This happened to DD as well, and according to our pedi, it's totally normal. DD had some major constipation issues when we first switched her to whole milk. It lasted about 3 weeks, on and off. Then one day it just stopped.
The nurse suggested limiting other forms of dairy and giving her fruit juices, but we didn't really change her diet at all. Warm baths may help your LO, and definitely push the water intake. We bought some gerber prunes to mix in with some of her food, but we never ended up giving them to her.
Our pedi really wants DD to drink at least 16 oz of milk/day, so he said to stick with it unless the constipation issues continued beyond 3-4 weeks.
DS has chronic constipation, so he's actually on polythylene glycol (prescription form of mira-lax). We love it, it works great and isn't addictive, so we can stop it anytime and he won't have any side efffects for overuse of it. We also only give him 2 sippies of milk a day, and the rest are water, sometimes 1 sippy of juice (usually Naked juice, to give him some veggie servings). I highly recommend raisins, they help constipation, and most toddlers LOVE them (ds would eat several boxes a day if I let him).
