which diapers are you using and how many?

I was going to stock up, then I figured I wouldn't know which I would like better and how much of what I woud need so I thought I would buy gift cards (when we got our tax return) but now the money is all gone.... so I'm back to stocking up- at least for the first couple of weeks.

What are you using? I have some pampers swaddelers, but I think huggies with the little thing cut out for cord stump would be good to.

YOu? Also, how much did you get at your shower??? mine is in 2 weeks.

I got about 2 packs at my shower. I don't like huggies at all. I don't know why.. just don't. We have some of the pamper swaddlers and we have store brand. I plan on using store brand because i'm cheap like that and I don't plan on leaving a dirty diaper on my child for hours so I am not worried about leakage. I know plenty of people who use them and love them more than the expensive brand. We will probably use the store brand during the day and pampers at night when she sleeps.

ETA: We are also stocking up as we can. As long as the packs aren't open you can always exchange them for a different size. We got 2 packs of newborns at our shower and everything we've bought has been size ones. Someone also bought us a pack of 2 and 3's so they are up in her closet for when we need them.

We haven't purchased any diapers yet. As gifts, we received like a 40 pack of the Huggies with the belly button thing and 2 boxes of size 1 pampers swaddlers (a total of 300 diapers or so). Anyway, we'll use the Huggies first and then switch to the pampers if they fit.

So far i have huggies size 1. My mother in law bought to many when she made my Diaper Cake for my babyshower so i have about a dozen of them left. Then i received a few samples of the Pure an Natural Huggies in the mail. My shower is still a month away. but i know my mother in law already has bought me 4 big bags of diapers... so...

i got one full case at my shower along with a diaper cake and a FEW small packages, but i got TONS of wipes for some reason! ... our plan is to use up the ones we have, fortunately the diaper cake was huggies and the others we got were pampers. and then just either chose what we like, or if they are the same to me, just get whats on sale!

Has anyone heard anything about Luvs brand? I forgot all about them, and saw then at the store this weekend...ohh well

We got one pack of Pampers Swaddlers at the shower, but we are planning on using the Seventh Generation brand (chlorine-free). They aren't as commonly available, but our grocery store has them at a reasonable price, so we are going to go for it!

I have a couple boxes of Swaddlers newborn, a couple boxes of Huggies in both neborn and size 1, and a box of Target brand, plus a bunch of various samples. We got no diapers at our first shower even though they were on our registry.

I got like 25 packs at my shower. I could not believe it!!!! (my mom did a diaper raffle) We got huggies and pampers mostly. I liked Huggies for my older daughter and pampers for my younger one.

MIL has bought us two huge boxes of diapers from Sams Clubs. They are pampers swaddlers. I have two girlfriends, one has a boy an done ahs a girl and they both loved them the best.

Also, I have a sample of each brand-pampers and huggies in the newborn size at home and JUST this weekend I compared the two and they both have the little dip for the belly button.

I didn't stock up either time. I have some NB swaddlers currently and that is it. I know that we can run up to Target and get more with our giftcards when we need them.

First of all, each kid is shaped differently and hence some people swear by huggies and others by pampers. My DS#1 was a pampers baby except at night when he was sleeping through, we used Huggies Overnites.

And you never know how big the baby is....the weights listed on all the packages are always wrong....usually they outgrow the size before they reach that upper limit on the box. So, you may not need NB or progress through a size MUCH quicker than expected.

It was just as easy to see when we had only a few left and then to go to the store. That way we never had too many left over.

I buy only when I have a coupon and preferably whe K mart has super double coupon week, I have Huggies, Pampers and Luvs.

N- I have both huggies and pampers probably have 5 bags total

1- again I have both huggies(2) and pampers(7)

2-both huggies(3) and pampers(6)

3- pampers (2 big boxes), Luvs (1 big box), huggies (2 smaller bags)

Forgive me I work with numbers all day but when I figured 12 diapers per day I have about 4 months worth of diapers, I know I may have to excahnge some for other sizes and am fine with that. I have not had any showers yet so I can't answer about that.

We are using pampers. All of my nephews didn't leak in pampers, but did in huggies. My two nieces were the opposite. So we figure we will try pampers based on that. But may have to change later based on what works better for DS.

I'm planning on using pampers based on DH's cousin's recommendation. She works at a daycare center and swears by pampers. We only got a few at my shower, but I've stocked up whenever I've gotten really good coupons or found really good sales.

I have some pampers NB but will probably quickly switch to Huggies Gentle Care when he's large enough (the Huggies seemed to run larger than the pampers). I found Pampers made DD break out in a rash so given the double dose of sensitive skin genes again, I doubt DS will escape that fate. We had really good luck with the Huggies Gentle Care and I could usually find coupons and stuff to bring the prices down. I tried some others, including regular huggies but thought they felt much rougher.

i am planning on using huggies because when DH had stepson when he was a baby everytie we put pampers on him he would leak out of them everytime...and since this baby is a boy also we figure the same thing will happen...at my shower we got 1 pack of size 1 luvs 4 packs of pampers size 1 and 3 packs of huggies newborn...i also like how the huggies have the cutout and you don't have to worry about the diaber irratating the stump

When thinking about how many, consider you're likely to change the baby's diaper 12-15 times/day. So in the first week, you'll change about 84-105 diapers! I'd probably get at least that many so I won't have to run out for more.

So far we have: 4 packages of NB.( Pampers swaddlers, Huggies all natural), 4 packages of size 1 (Huggies all natural, Target up & up), and a box of 2's plus 2 packages of 2's. (Huggies all natural, Pampers)

I got all of these at my shower with the exception of one package of 1's and a package of 2's.
