Trying to Get Pregnant

Temps and Provera

Does anyone know what taking Provera will do to your temps?

Per dr.'s orders I started Provera last night at cd45. My temps went up yesterday but I thought it was just due to the fact that I was sleep deprived, but this morning another temp jump. Is this due to the Provera or has my body finally decided to ovulate? I am assuming it is the Provera but I wanted to see if anyone else has had similar experiences?

TIA!

Re: Temps and Provera

  • I just went back & checked all of my previous charts.  I did not see a temp jump any of the times I've taken Provera.

  • It is most likely due to Provera. I've always had high temps when I took Provera.

Did you test before taking Provera?

Yes, I took an IC HPT and OPK, just to be sure, both negative.

  • Provera is basically progesterone, which is the same stuff that makes your temp go up after you O, so you should expect to see a jump.

This is what I thought! Thank you for confirming.
