Reaction from Amoxicillin - anyone?

DS got a cat bite the other day, so pedi put him on amox prescrip which we started yesterday. He got a BAD diaper rash, like he wouldn't sit on his butt all day, and screamed during changes. I put butt paste on last night, and i didnt rub it in because he screamed at that too. This morning he had almost sores from where I dabbed the diaper cream, and DH has said it hasn't gotten better today. We plan to take him in tomorrow to the pedi to look at it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? It has to be the antibiotics, we haven't changed anything else.

I would take him to the pedi as soon as possible and try to give him lots of diaper free time. I know it may get messy but that is the best thing you can do right now. I'm so sorry for your little guy!

DD got a rash from Amox- i avoid it at all costs- but the dr said we could use benadryl.

DS has this exact same reaction to Amoxicillin. It was a bad diaper rash that then turned into sores. We switched his antibiotic and it cleared up right away. I would stop giving it to him and call the pharmacist or doctor.

Same thing happened to mine. Also got terrible stomach pains and diarrhea for a week

DS got a terrible rash from amoxicillin (but not a diaper rash) it covered his whole body from head to toe. Dr. advised that he never use it again (I'm also allergic to it). I would stop using it now.
