I have a project to recover 4 dining chairs, non-formal, and I'm reaching out to you wise nesties to see if anyone can steer me in the right direction on picking out fabric for this purpose. Obviously I need something durable and as stain-resistant as possible. Where should I look for fabric and what type?
Thanks in advance!

ahh outdoor fabric- good idea!
Indoor/outdoor fabric is great for upholstery that is very frequently used. I'd also recommend using a pattern that will hide minor imperfections. In other words - stay away from a lot of white! You can also look at upholstery weight fabric - this will be heavier than drapery material and would be suitable for a sofa or upholstered chair. Choose something that can be spot cleaned. I'd stay away from dry clean only fabrics for dining room chair cushions.
As far as stores go, Joann's selection in-store varies, but they can custom order quite a bit. I also like Calico Corners (both the website and the local store) and Interiors Fabrics on Burnet Road.
