crib rail for convertible crib - need help please!

We have a Baby Italia Pinehurst convertible crib and I now need to turn it into a toddler bed with a rail. They no longer have the rail in stock for our crib, it is also very expensive....would rather get another one.

Anyone have a convertible crib and NOT use the rail from the conversion kit?

Please help.

Hey wee! I just got this one for Avery and it works great. Our crib only turned into a day bed, so this rail was perfect. I think it might be a little cheaper on amazon, but I had a diapers.com coupon.

We just converted my DDs bed into a day bed and didn't bother with the rail. We have the matress set to the lowest setting and she really isn't that high off the ground. We have carpet floors and I put pillows next to herjust in case and she has been fine so far. You might want to see if you really even need a rail.
