PT & the sitter vent

So we keep DS in underwear all day at home and a diaper for overnight.  He wears a pull-up at the sitters for nap time (I'm fine with that), he naps right before or after lunch.  Well everyday I pick him up he is in a DRY pullup.  Why doesn't she just change him back into underwear?  So this morning I go to put underwear on him and he says "(Sitter) says no", meaning he shouldn't wear underwear only a pull up.  Grrr.  He is fully capable of being out of them by now.

I talked to her when I dropped him off about how I don't mind the pull up during nap time (b/c he does still occasionally have accidents) and said I'd like him to be wearing underwear more regularly.  She then asked if I had an extra set of undies and clothes in his bag.  Um, WTH?  Of course I do, he has all the stuff she needs in there. It isn't that big of a bag to look through.

I hope she respects my wishes.

    I would be a little pissed.  Seriously, she doesn't even know what's in his bag?  That's a little disturbing.

    that pi$$es me off that she must have said it enough or had DS ask for underwear that he thinks he isn't 'allowed' to wear them at her house.

    I'd be annoyed. We had a similar situation with daycare when we started PTing and I went to our director about it. You obviously don't have that option, but she needs to respect your wishes as a parent.

    That said, leave the door open for him not being as successful with her as he is with you. We're completely diaperless at home and out and about, only use them overnight. When we tried to send him to school in undies he didn't fare so well. I think he was just more distracted. We're going to try again in a week or so, and if it doesn't work at that point we'll just wait until he bumps up to the next age group in December. Right now he's the only one using the potty in his room.

    I agree with Katie.  The fact that she hasn't even taken the time to look in his bag would be a red flag to me.  I hope she respects your wishes but if not it might be time to find someone new.
