I'm going to be having my baby soon and bought a boppy for when I start breast feeding. What do you think of the boppy and is it something I should take to the hospital with me to get used to using with help from the nurse?
I love it. I use it for more than breastfeeding though. I use it to sit LO upright so she can practice trying to hold her head up, I use it for when SS holds her, I use it as a neck pillow for me haha. The doctor told me if I'm up and can watch her, to let LO sleep in it, so she is at an angle, because she has really bad reflux, so lying flat is not an option for her. I just swaddle her up and sit her at an angle in the hole and she's propped up and good to go. It's probably one of the most useful gifts I got for her, and I think I can probably find uses for it for a long time.
I didn't have it at the hospital though. They just piled a bunch of pillows under my arm.
I love, love, love the boppy. I brought it to the hospital just in case and I did end up using it a lot..it was much easier than trying to work with all of the pillows.
we love our boppy. I would take it to hospital. All they will give you is pillows. And even if you dont end up using it there know big deal its not that hard to carry to and from the car.
It was much easier for me to breastfeed once I had the Boppy. My LO was so tiny at birth, and it was hard to hold her in a position where she could reach to eat. She also likes to lay on it to sleep (while it's sitting on me). I'd bring it with you. Might make things easier from the get-go.
I use my Boppy daily for BFing. I have Brest Friend pillow, too, but I prefer the Boppy. I think it would help to bring it to the hospital b/c I used a normal pillow there to rest DD on & it was annoying.
I really like the Boppy too, but it took me a little while to figure out how to make it work well for me. So if it doesn't seem to work well in the beginning, keep trying.
I love my Boppy pillow! I did take it to the hospital but I didn't like it at first. I don't know if I was just adjusting to BF in general or if I was just sitting at a weird angle in the hospital bed. It started working great as soon as we came home. I would recommend taking it to the hospital but if it doesn't work out right away, stick with it for a while longer.

I took the Boppy, came in very handy :-) I love it and plan on using it as long as I can. I used it on the plane when we moved so she could be comfy and sleep, and I use it for her tummy time and sitting up too.
Love love love our boppy! I did take it to the hospital, but left it in the car - figured dh could run out & get it if needed. (we 'checked in' to L & D on sun for induction, DS wasn't born until tues - it was one less thing to have in our room until he was born) I didn't end up using it in the hospital (we only stayed ~ 30 hrs after his birth) but we use it all the time at home!
