Pediatrician's Office Non clicky poll

Do they have a separate waiting rooms for the sick kids and the regular checkup kids? One pedi we went to had separate ones and it was awesome and today this pedi just had a huge area of kids coughing, hacking and sneezing all togetherwith the wellness checkup kids. Needless to say I stood by the door and waited. Just wondering. I would make a poll but I'm on my phone.

    The sick kid side has all the toys and is bigger, though. The well visit side is pretty small.

    Our pedi has two separate areas for sick and well visits but its one open waiting room!

    The clinic I go to has several different pedis, and so they take it a step forward and have 2 separate clinics. They just schedule you for when the pedi of your choice (if you care) is at the well child clinic.

    Mine has a "Sick Area", but it's not an entirely separate room.

    There are 2 seperate areas - the sick room and the well room.  There is a door and an enclosed wall to seperate the 2 areas. 
    From miscarriages, a diagnosis of a bicornuate uterus, and fibroid removal surgery...It's been quite the journey but it was all well worth it. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    Yes, they have a seperate waiting area for well visits vs. sick kids. However, when I bring DS for a well visit he always runs over to the sick kids side because that is where all the cool toys are. Drives me crazy.

    No, I go to a large family practices with 4 seperate units and it's a mixed waiting room.

    Yup.  Each side is pretty evenly matched as far as size and entertainment.  I love that we don't have to sit next to the sneezing kids while we're waiting.

    Our pediatrician's have waiting rooms for sick infants, sick young kids and sick older kids. Babies under 1 are automatically placed in another room. They don't like for babies to be anywhere near older kids even if neither are sick. However, our pediatricians are all women with small children and in thier 30's. I think I have finally found the perfect doctors for us

    at ours it is basically one large room but they have a "sick" side and a "not sick" side.......i just thought it was kinda weird b/c it's basically the same room so if a kid is coughing or whatnot you're still in the same area as them. blah.

    The rooms are separate, but not by a wall or anything.  There are no toys in the waiting room period which I like because they are germie.  They do have TVs which play Disney movies.

    We don't go to a pedi. We see a family doc and only a handful of times in the 6 years we've been going there has there ever been anyone else in the waiting room =)

    But, when we do take DS and there are people in the waiting room, they always have us wait in the back.

    I remember when I was 5-ish months pregnant, during the H1N1 EPIDEMIC!!!; there were signs on the front door of the building, in the elevators, on the office door...everywhere....saying that if you had flu symptoms (with a list of them), to please put on a mask before entering the office. As I was sitting there, this guy comes in and he's a mess.....obviously has the flu or at least the bubonic plague. He practically licked everything in the waiting room before the nurse insisted he put on a mask. Ugh. Definitely made me think they should have a separate area for the sickos!
