how much juice for 10 month old?

hi girls... i  know i could call the pedi but i dont want them to think im a pain in the ass lol. the dr had said a couple weeks ago at our last visit that if DS' diapers were yellow that he wasnt getting enough fluid and to give him some juice. i didnt ask how much and was wondering what you ladies give to your LOs

TIA

Re: how much juice for 10 month old?

  • yes he'll def take water! he loves it, so 2-3 oz is ok? even if he's only taking in about 20oz of formula? sorry for all the "stupid" questions. Embarrassed
  • Noah hates water, which is very normal so I have been told.  And I either give him some apple juice (4 oz juice and 3oz water)  I just give him little bits here and there.  I find if I water it down then he is at least getting some water

that would be fine. I usually offer DS about 3 oz in his sippy a couple times a day. he doesn't normally drink it all but if he wanted to he could

  • thank you girls!! im going to try the water in the sippy cup first - if he refuses ill def water down the juice and try that. just wasnt sure how many oz was enough..
  • My pedi said 4 oz of water a day at her 9 month appt.
  • I do a 50-50 mix of pear juice and water.  5 - 7oz at a time, once a day, usually at snack time in the morning.

1 sippy of empty calorie juice doesn't bother me.  I buy organic and juices have fiber and other vitamins in addition to the 'empty' calories.

  • I do 1 oz juice and 4 oz. of water.

This.  Our pedi prefers that DD eat her fruit at least for now.
