no bleeding after d&c until a few days later?

Hi, sorry I am posting on my phone here - but I had a d&c early thurs morning and had no bleeding/spotting/cramping at all thurs or fri. I took it easy, ate lightly and was feeling fine. Tonight however I started to cramp and have bright red bleeding - is this normal to start a few days later? When I spoke to my doctor yesterday he said he didn't expect me me to bleed, as I wasn't after the procedure. Thanks and sorry for my long post!

    The same thing happened to me. I had a D&C a week ago this past Thursday and had almost no bleeding. Then I started bleeding lightly on Monday night. That only lasted a day and I thought I was done for sure until I started bleeding lightly again tonight. It is concerning and frustrating. I keep racking my brain to try and remember what my OB said was normal. I do think it is in the normal range but I will talk to her more about it at my follow up apt. on Thursday. My fear is that there is something left in there that is having trouble coming out. I think as long as you are not bleeding heavily you should be okay to wait and call on Monday if you are still concerned. Sorry you are having to go through this! it sucks!

    Same here! I had my D&C on Tuesday, and had a very small amount brown discharge tues, wed, thurs and fri and then today I am having worse than period-like cramps and bright red spotting. This is my 2nd D&C, and I don't remember it being like this last time, which is worrying me a little...

    Thank-you for this post.  I had what my doctor called a D&E on Tuesday.  I experienced very little pain (though perhaps the pain meds masked this) and only very little brown spotting Wed. and Thurs.  However, by Friday and continuing into today (Sunday), I still have cramping - though it seems to be almost sudden, onset cramps that go away quickly - and I am bleeding like a period, bright red, with bright red discharge - some mucousy - some maybe almost like describing little clots.  It reminds me of the heavier periods I used to have prior to all of this - but it still scares me. I mean, if supposedly the surgery was to remove everything, why am I still bleeding adn discharging? 

    I think I will also take other's advice and call the doctor as well.  Maybe we can compare notes tomorrow on what was said. Good Luck to you and I hope your cramps and bleeding cease soon.

    This is EXACTLY what's going on with me!  I will def call tomorrow and keep you posted.  My gut is telling me this is normal, and our bodies are just doing what they should be doing, but I'd like to hear that from the doctor.

    Good luck to you as well, and I hope your cramping/bleeding ends soon, this really sucks!!
