I got the kind that reclines/sits up/becomes a booster...and straps to a dining room chair.
Baby is getting to a stage where I'd like to put him in the reclining position and eat as a family at the table. (of course he'd just sit there and watch us)
I think I'm going to install ours when he turns 3 months old.
Usually they use it when they start eating solids. Although I use ours now. I do have to put a blanket around to help support her sitting up but she loves to sit in it and watch mommy cook dinner! We just "talk" the whole time. We also will have her in it with us at the table when we have family dinner even though she is too little to participate.

Not sure if that helps you...
