in Pregnant after a Loss
In an hr I go for a physical ( my yearly is due), more bloodwork, and  my NT Scan.  I did not have one with Joey.  Can you tell me about your experiences?  TIA

    It's an u/s where they measure the back of the babies neck.  At mine they also measured the head, femur etc......... then they took blood and we had a 15 minute session with a genetic counselor

    I had mine at 11 weeks 4 days. It was actually a lot of fun because it was the first time we saw teh baby moving around.  When I got in there I had a full bladder and baby was sleepign soundly.  They ended up making me empty my bladder to wake the babe up.  Because the baby needs to be in the perfect position to get the measurement it can take a while and you may even need to go back a week later if the baby is uncooperative. Ours was stubborn and it took about 40 minutes before the tech was able to get a good measurement. In the meantime she was shaking my belly and having me cough and turn on my side and with every little budge the baby would shake her fist at us or kick me.  Too cute :)  Try not to stress about the numbers as they are supposed to be read with bloodwork as a whole.  Good luck and have fun watching that little one :)

    It's just an u/s, but they are looking at the fluid at the neck.  My baby had a higher than normal measurement, so we went from there and had additional testing.  From what I understand, anything 3.0 and below is normal.
