I am really nervous about the different meds. I just got the package today with most of them and feel like I have no clue what I am doing. When the nurse was explaining everything to us a few weeks back, it was hard to understand her. She doesn't speak very good English. I feel like I am being such a pain in the neck, but I called my doctor's number today again. I am always calling and they must be getting so sick of hearing my messages. I want things to be explained again. The time line that they gave me to follow is also confusing. Did you ever feel like you were being a pain? I'm hoping that they don't mind walking me through all of this again.

Re: Ladies starting Lupron...question about other injectables.
I sometimes feel like I am being a pain. But it is what it is. I have to put my care first.
Lupron is an easy shot. It comes with the needles in the box and it is a sub-q shot. The biggest problem most people complain about with Lupron is the side effects. Mostly headaches.
There are also videos on you tube that you can watch showing how to administer the shots.
We will also be here to give you advice!
A doctor from my clinic gave the advice : Don't ever leave the office with confused, with questions, or be in doubt of what to do next. His thinking is: nothing can replace a face-to-face, or direct contact with one of the staff. I have on occasion talked to two nurses about the same subject because I was overwhelmed and didn't understand. When I apologized for taking up their time, I was assured that it was more important for me to know what my next steps were.
I am less aggressive about non-urgent matters and will call the nurse on a weekday for those if I forget to pursue an answer during a visit, but when it comes to important information, it does no one any good for you to have questions or concerns.
Good luck!
I really struggle with not wanting to come across as a pain, but with something like this I think it's totally warranted. Definitely call and have them answer your questions to your liking. If it's just a matter of understanding the nurse's English, politely ask to speak with another nurse. I highly doubt that you're the first patient to have these questions and issues.
Also, I think the advice to watch the youtube videos is really good! I'm planning to watch a bunch of them this weekend before I go in for my injections class so I'll have a better idea of what they're saying.
Good luck to you!

Also, my technique at the RE's office is to take a moment to think about if I know what to do or have any questions. Then I can ask before I leave. I found I get better answers if I ask before I leave than when I call later with questions.
