Trying to Get Pregnant

So I know this is the TTGP board, but what if...

You're trying to NOT get pregnant?  Liiiike I wanted to wait to actually start trying until I..A. Got my period after coming off bcp and breastfeeding, and B. have seen my gyno for my annual.  One down, now I just need to get to the dr. next week.  Question here is:  I'm on CD18 right now I haven't charted, but did notice EWCM the other day, not so much today at all..would you risk it and have sex anyway..or do you think I could potentially still be a fertile myrtle? :P  I really just want the go-ahead from Dr. before we officially get on board with TTC.

  • Maybe, however if you want to have sex when you think you are fertile, but don't want to get pregnant you will most likely have to make sacrifices.

    Ummm this.

The "Ew condoms" line of thought is exactly why so many ill-equipt teenagers get knocked up. I guess if you're willing to get pregnant right this instant then go ahead.

  • ewww condoms? Seriously?  It's not the same, but if you're that concerned it's the best solution, no?  If you're not charting and have your mind set on a Dr. visit first then I wouldn't risk it.

What difference is it really going to make? They can still do a pap on you while/if you're KU.

If it were me I wouldn't miss the chance because you never know how long it could take. But I'm also considered infertile.. and you're not so.. thats just my thought.

  • My husband and I used Natural Family planning to avoid, if you aren't using birth control this could be an option for you (we don't believe in bc). Basically you are looking for your CM to be drying up and you want to wait 3-4 days after your peak cervical mucus. This is most effective when you are also temping. Its called the sympto-thermal method

Just fyi - it didn't really work for us, we got married in July and because of the time change on our honeymoon I ovulated a little early and my husband has super sperm so we got pregnant and I am now 11 weeks. I just lurk over hear when my morning sickness is really bad so I really appreciate how blessed I am :)

I lurk here to offer support and cheer on all of the wonderful ladies on this board (many of whom I know pretty well after spending 8 months here myself).  Rubbing your "I'm too stupid to figure out NFP" oopsie pregnancy in all of their faces under the guise that you are offering advice is insulting and makes me ANGRY.

so I should be thinking how lucky I am to not having morning sickness right now (and therefore not be KU)?

I haven't thrown up since I was 9. I'm 27 now. I CAN'T freakin wait to throw up again in the form of morning sickness. I can't wait to use my sick days for this.

And when I do start throwing up or feeling under the weather or whatever the hell morning sickness feels like, I will never throw it in the face of the ladies here.

What a heartless, b!tchy thing to say. Congrats on failing with NFP. I hope none of your IRL friends are actually TTC right now, because if I had to hear about "super sperm" from someone with an oops pregnancy right now I think I'd punch them in the face. Which is what you deserve. Go back to 1st tri to complain about your morning sickness.

You're an idiot.  You got lucky.  You were one of the 20% who gets pregnant any given cycle.

P.S. I was able to get pregnant twice.  Once while I was on the pill and once the first time I had unprotected sex.  Now we've been TTC for 14 consecutive cycles with no pregnancy.

I can't even begin to describe how angry this just made me. You completely insensitive fvcking twatwaffle. I hope I never see your name on this board again.

I am SO tempted to go over to April 2011 Moms and laugh in her face.  Her posts are complete b!tching and moaning about morning sickness.  BOO-EFFING-HOO.

I also high five your use of the term "twatwaffle" Yes

My husband and I used Natural Family planning to avoid, if you aren't using birth control this could be an option for you (we don't believe in bc).

    Good Luck!

Really?....... you've GOT to be kidding me with this!! First of all.. who has to TRY to feel blessed about getting pregnant?! and second.. Please tell me where you went on your honeymoon so i can go there with DH cuz he has super sperm as well and i'd love to ovulate early...... you are an IDIOT! Not only does this post piss me off, but it makes me laugh.. I can't believe some people could be SO stupid!.. and in a way, i'm glad you posted.. When i see people as idiotic as you, it makes me "really appreciate how blessed i am" :)
