3rd Trimester

If this is your 2nd+?

Do you think your body was healed all the way?

(It still hurt me to sit down before getting pregnant, and still does...  I only had a few stiches from my sons birth, should have been healed, but still hurts.  I hope it doesn't hurt to sit down for the rest of my life.)

Re: If this is your 2nd+?

  • I didn't feel completely healed until ds was about 5 or 6 months old, I had a lot stitches.

  • I didn't push a baby out my vaj, so I can't speak to healing down there, but as for my section scar, yes.  I have no pain at all there and my scar has pretty much faded to nothing.  However, my body did not gone back to it's normal self (even having lost 30 pounds since my pre preg weight).:(

  • Theres 4 years between my children so yeah I was healed all the way. Only thing is with my son he stretched me from here to hong kong so I have worse ligament pain earlier with this one.
  • Yes, but at the same time I didn't have to have a single stitch or anything with DS. So thankful for that!

  • I was in the best shape of my life a few months AFTER having DS.  I'm definitely having more aches and pains with this one though so we'll see...
  • I had a CS five years ago and no, I don't think I ever healed back to pre-pregnancy condition. Before I got PG this time I weighed less than I did when I was 20, and I still had a ledge on my tummy where my CS scar was.

  • According to the doctor I was healed all the way. I could sit... but certain positions, etc while having sex would KILL!

I had to go to the hospital for contractions last week... they checked me... and it actually brought tears to my eyes. I remember it being uncomfortable before, but never that painful. I'm afraid of delivery this time, and don't even want to think about how I'll feel afterward.

Yes, I do believe I was "healed all the way." No pain down there but it has been longer for me between children. HTH.

Same here - DS will be 4 next month and i'm due in 2 months...so I had more time in between pregnancies to heal.

  • I'm pretty sure I was healed all the way, as there was 5.5 years between when I delivered DD and when I got pregnant with this baby. Wink

  • I had 3rd degree tear & and episiotomy...  Lots of stitches.  Also, they had to re-stitch me because I had to go into the OR for D&C right after the delivery...

So i had tons of pain at the beginning, but I haven't had pain even before I got pregnant. I'm hoping it all healed okay.

  • My DD was a year old when I found out I was pregnant. I felt completely normal, but I'm sure it all depends on the kind of birth you had before, etc.
  • I felt completely healed about 7 months after having DS, so yes, I was healed before getting pregnant again.

  • I was not healed all the way, but I got pg when L was 5 1/2 months old, so not much time in between.

    ETA: Also I had a c/s.

  • Yup. I had a stitch or two, but felt healed within 6 weeks after giving birth.
