Baby items you can't stand - Go.

What I can't stand are leashes on children. I don't buy any of the "reasons" sounds like excuses for lack of discipline to me. Denim diapers. Bumbo seat. Barefoot babies when it is obviously cold out. I also can't stand when moms know their baby girl doesn't have a lot of hair but still yank and pull and try to make pigtails. It is not a cute look.

You do realize that your first and last paragraph are completely contradictory, right? WTF is wrong with the Bumbo seat?????

And this is my point. You have no effing clue WHAT you're talking about ... and neither do most of the people on this board. And WHY? Because most of them don't even have kids. You do, but you've never used a Bumbo before, and so you hate it? WHY???? Why would you put that out there in a judgey fashion for absolutely no reason whatsoever???

I haven't ever used a breast pump, but WTF do you think would happen if I posted something like, 'OMG I hate breast pumps. They look the things you hook up to a cow to milk them with ... why anyone buys them is beyond me...'

Let me educate you, Bumbos are not hard, they're actually quite soft ... and not awkward at all. My kid loved sitting in his and watching the world around him before he was able to sit up in it himself.

I'm thinking that's how most of the chicks in this thread came to their conclusions about stuff they "can't stand".

FWIW - The Bumbo is actually a soft plastic. Think the rubbery stuff they put on the ground at playgrounds. And it's ergonomically shaped to fit a baby's butt, so it's not uncomfortable. My DS has sat in his for upwards of an hour before (with us playing with him obviously. We didn't stick him in it and leave him for an hour).

I hate diapers. It's inhumane to make your child sit around in pee and poop. Parents are just lazy and need to learn how to read when their kid needs to use the toilet. They're just so grossssssssss.

I'm actually a very happy person, but yes, posts like this make me angry. It pisses me off when people who have no idea what they're talking about spout off their mouths and judge others for the way the raise their kids, or the tools they use to do so.

If I have learned anything from the the past (one, two, three ... ) almost 4 years I've been on the Bump it's that things work differently for different moms and different kids. And yes, showing up in a thread and saying something like, 'people who use leashes are treating their kids like dogs) IS judging.

I view buckling a child into a stroller the same way I view seatbelting adults in cars. I'm unable to lug my child everywhere I need to go. So I need to use a stroller. Straps/seatbelts are the only safe way to use a stroller. I'm not interested in watching my child slip out and hit the decks. Same rationale with a crib, and a bedrail when my kid is no longer crib age.
In my opinion, a leash isn't making my child safer. It's making my job easier. Different ballgame. My son isn't a puppy. He doesn't need a leash. He needs to either be taught not to run, or he needs to stay out of crowded public areas until he can learn this skill.
You don't have to agree. Really. My whole point was just that we don't have to agree with you either. And that popping out a kid won't magically change how I feel about something I have strong feelings about.

If you don't think having a baby will change your opinion on certain baby products or baby techniques you are seriously deluded. Wait until your kid won't sleep ANYWHERE other than on you ... or in your bed. Wait until he won't latch, and after 3 days of him getting ZERO food you break open that can of Enfamil. Wait until you have a 15 month old who is SO excited that he knows how to walk now, he refuses to sit in the stroller, be confined to a carrier, and doesn't have enough motor skills to walk and hold your hand at the same time.
MY point is this - you (general you, this is directed to all the haters on ALL products in this thread) can say you don't like leashes/cosleeping/FFing/pacifiers/etc ... but don't EVER say never. You have no idea what your baby will be like ... what they will and won't tolerate ... what will and won't work for your family.

I really hate that a lot of Winnie the Pooh things are actually nice looking. I am not completely anti-character but I don't like the way Winnie or whatever else lives in his forest are drawn. Just not attractive to me, but the browns/greens/tans/nature crap is attractive to me. Man, that really annoys me. HAH
