Trying to Get Pregnant

Favorite scary movie

I know this was one of the options of the siggy challenge, so I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite scary movie is?

First let me say that I do not watch scary movies anymore due to the fact that my husband enjoys a full night sleep.  But if I am picking one I've seen, it would have to be The Ring.  Scared the sh!t out of me for 7 days!  lol No, but really, besides The Exorcist, which I cannot watch under any circumstances ever again, I think The Ring was my favorite.

Re: Favorite scary movie

  • I LOVE scary movies!!  The Ring is definitely a top favorite of mine.  But I also love IT, because it's so creepy (except the cheesy end) and it reminds me of childhood.  I think it was the first movie I ever saw that freaked me out.  I think Blair Witch Project is awesome too.

Omg, I forgot about IT!  Good call.  That movie is the reason I'm afraid of clowns.

  • I love all scary movies. The only one that has ever really bothered me is the Exorcist. I watched the Exorcist, on TNT, on a Sunday afternoon, in the daylight, 7 years ago and was scarred for life.

I also have a love/hate relationship with the Saw movies. They are so demented and twisted; I can't look away.

I could not agree more with everything you said.  I couldn't even watch the ads for The Exorcist when it was rereleased.  And The Ring and Blair Witch both left me with lingering fear of white noise on televisions and people in corners.  I still get scared just thinking about both of those movies.

  • I also have a love/hate relationship with scary movies.  I love to be scared but I have a hard time with plots that could actually happen. I will never watch The Strangers.  I would have to say The Village was my favorite scary movie because it didn't end up being scary in the end.  I also really like The Haunting.  I doubt anyone remembers it but it was one of Catherine Zeta-Jone's and Owen Wilson's first movies.

  • IT scarred me as well. And the Exorcist movies/Exorcism of Emily Rose. but the exorcism movies scare the *** out of me cause I believe in things like that.

and my household avoids scary movies because my SO hates waking up at 1am to me asking him to go check what that noise was!

I remember that movie!  I used to watch it all the time when it was on tv.

YES!! I think that The Strangers is the scariest movie i have ever seen for that reason.

I like scary movies, but I don't like any of the supernatural/haunted/ghost stories. I loved Signs and The Village until they actually showed the aliens/creatures. I hate those movies now. To me, they are dumb!

Dude, I think we saw the EXACT same showing of The Exorcist! I watched it on a Sunday after church in broad daylight while my parents were taking a nap and it scared the SHVT out of me! (only because I actually believe demonic possession can happen). Ghost movies dont really affect me but that movie did and so did the Exorcism of Emily Rose. Those movies make me sick to my stomach.

But my FAVORITE scary movies are Gothica and Silence of the Lambs. I like scary movies that have an actual plot and arent just gory/ scary to be gory/ scary.

YES! That movie totallly reminds me of when my sister and I were young on rainy weekends we would put that movie on and watch it over and over.

I used to LOVE scary movies but seeing The Ring in the theater totally ruined me! LOL! I cant watch them anymore without freaking out. Just this weekend I tried to watch 28 Days Later (or something like that. A zombie movie) couldnt do it. I had to turn it off because if I get too scared I make my dog go into the basement with me to do laundry for days. He doesn't find it entertaining to go up and down the stairs 4 times a day. LOL!

OMG I know. I think that movie really freaked me out because my grandpa has sat in on a few exorcisms (he's the old priest - ha!) and has told me stories about them. So I know it can happen. ::shudders::

I loooove the Halloween movies!  The original first 2 are my faves.  Rob Zombie did a pretty good job with the remake but it will never really measure up for me.  Scream is great too, I'm very excited that they're coming out with a new one and that Courtney and David Arquette are going to be in it.  Also gotta love Nightmare on Elm Street, it's a classic.

Oh. my. gosh.  The Strangers messed me up.  I think part of it is because my name is Kristin.  So hearing my name (which doesn't seem to be a popular character name in movies) caught me off guard and freaked me out even more given the content of the movie.

The Ring, Hostel, Saw, House of 1000 Corpses.  I could go on.  I love scary movies.
