  we kept them in the same room. they didn't wake each other up (they never have) and i think in the long run, it helped them to get even better about sleeping through the others crying.

  We did separate our boys when they were just over a year.  They were not good sleepers at all and they always woke each other up.   It really was the best thing we did for everyone.

  mine have always been in the same room - crying never wakes the 2nd baby up- unless it's almost time to wake up anyway.
