2nd Trimester

I need another pregnant lady at my house!

For weeks I have thought that there was an odd smell coming from our kitchen sink. I bought draino, I bought another chemical sink cleaner, and still, it smells! I smell it as soon as I walk into the house and it makes my stomach turn.

DH doesnt smell it.

My dad stopped by, and doesnt smell it.

My dad had two of his crew members stop by, clean the sink pipes, and they dont smell it.

And yet still, I smell it!

GRRRR!

  • Do you have a garbage disposal or just a regular sink? I know our sink/ disposal stinks to high heaven at times. If you have a disposal, try putting some lemon or orange peels in and turning it on.

Also, could it be coming from somewhere else? I have Super Man's nose right now so I can smell the neighbor's indoor trash from my house. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Mix equal parts baking soda and vinegar in the drain (I do both sides)

Stop up the drains (will be foamy)

Let it sit for about 15 minutes

Pour HOT water down drain.  I pour boiling water.

This should get rid of the funk smell.  Works for ours!

Yeah...my pics were so old. I got 3 kids. Nuff said. :)

This works in ours as well. My dishwasher was doing the same thing and I just used vinegar and it worked by itself.

That's what I do and it works great!

  • I hope there is nothing dead in the walls behind the sink.

Way to put a bright shiny spin on things!

  • Thanks for the suggestions. We dont have a disposal. I have tried straight vinegar, but will mix it tomorrow and see what I can smell, or not smell. I am 100% positive that it's coming from the kitchen sink, and it's a newly built house, so I hope that there are no dead animals! :)
