I love my OB, Dr. Hakimian at Progressive Care for Women. I really like all the doctors in the practice. They are at 676 N. St. Clair and deliver at Prentice. I think the website is pc4w.com
Congratulations!
BFP 4/23/09. D&E 7/17/09 16W5D.
BFP #2 3/10/10. EDD 11/15/10 Babycakes was born 11/5/10!
I highly recommend the midwives group through NMPG, as well as the doctor practice they are affiliated with. I had an amazing birth experience with the midwives (and they do not frown upon epidurals if that is what you want).
I moved out of the city recently and found a new doctor for my 2nd pregnancy because I thought a local doctor would be more convenient. It recently ended in miscarriage and I had complications post D&C. I went back to the midwives at NMPG for a 2nd opinion when I felt uncomfortable with the treatment I was receiving from the doctor I was seeing in the suburbs. They once again have blown me away with the care they have given me.
I am going to need another medical procedure done and I have been working with one of the doctors in the NMPG practice that the midwives are affiliated with (because midwives can not perform surgical procedures), and so far my experience with him has been very good as well. I most definitely will be returning to them for all future OB/GYN care, even though the commute is very inconvenient for me.
Here is a website for more info on the doctors and midwives:
Love Dr. Levitt at the Womens Group of Northwestern (737 N. Michigan). Since the practice has quite a few doctors, I saw each of them at least once for my regular appointments, but Dr. Levitt was my favorite and she was the one who ended up delivering our baby. She is great and I have been going to her ever since.
I LOVE my ob/gyn!!! I've been going to her for about 8 years although until recently only about once a year! Her name is Dr. Rose Diakos and is in a practice with 2 other ob/gyns called Lakeshore Women's Health Specialists (https://lakeshorewomenshealth.com/) located at 1460 N Halsted.
Her office staff can be a little short tempered at times, but Dr. Rose is great! Very down to earth and easy to talk to!
I asked this a while back and got a lot of responses (pasted below). I currently go to Dr Gil Weiss at the Association for Women's Healthcare (30 N Michigan). The only deliver at Prentice. So far, I have been very happy with the practice and I really like Dr Weiss, he listens to my concerns and helps calm me down. I like his nurses and most of the check-in people (there is one receptionist that can be b!tchy, but everyone else is great). Wait times aren't too bad, unless you have an ultrasound appt with the tech and then just go first thing in the morning (otherwise expect to wait 30 min after your appt.)
Other responses I got before were:
Today I went to interview and have a pre-pregancy check-up with Dr. Sue Hungerford.I had a lovely expereince and am excited to start the process. Her office is in the 30 N. Michigan building and she delivers out of Northwestern-Prentice.
The Women's Practice. They are on Michigan and Chicago and are affiliated with Northwestern. My doc is Mia Norlin and she's great.
I made an appt. next month with Dr. Abbie Roth. I'm new in the area, but my good friend used to go to her (now lives in STL). I heard great things! She's located off of N. Lakeshore Dr. What questions are you ladie's asking when you go for your pre-conception visit?
Hi, I like dr Blumenthal at 55 E Washington, he delivered my baby but was not my usual OB. I LOVED HIM. My dr had a terrible bedside manner that wasn't helpful while pregnant. 312 263 5517 they are with Norwestern
I go to The Women's Practice on Michigan Ave. They are actually located in the Neiman Marcus Building. I have been so happy with all of the doctors (although my regular doctor is Dr. Buscher). Dr. Norlin delivered our daughter, and she was wonderful!
We highly recommend Dr. Patricia Gale, she is located right across the street from Northwestern Memorial. She is so great, easy to talk to, thorough and always on time! She is an award winner (patient's choice) and we love her!
I see that someone has already given a plug for the Assn for Women's Health at 30 N. Michigan. I have also been going there for years - and love it. My Dr is Norman Ginsburg. I work across the street, so it is super convenient for me (this is how I originally found them.) Plus the fact that my Dr only delivers at NW is an added bonus for me, since that is my preferred hospital.
