How many bottles does your 10 month old take per day? What time and how much? Formula or breastfed?
4 bottles - formula & breastmilk
7 am - 6 oz
10 am - 2-4 oz
2 pm - 4 oz
7 pm - 6-8 oz
She also eats 3 meals a day and has 1 snack...we are thinking about cutting out a bottle or two, but not sure how or if we need to.

Re: How many bottles for 10 month old?
I wouldn't cut out two bottles! That would only be 10oz of Formula or BM a day! Not enough IMO!
Anyway, at 10 months DD was still taking 4 bottles. This was her schedule:
7:15 - 6 oz formula
11:15 - 6oz formula
4:00 - 6oz formula
8:15 - 6 oz formula
Around 11 Months we dropped the night time bottle. Now she is taking a sippy of milk with each meal (7oz in the sippy) and then some water throughout the day when she is thirsty. DD was also on 3 meals at 10 months but just started having an afternoon snack at a year.
DS takes 3 bottles and will shortly be down to 2 bottles/day. Here is his schedule:
7am breakfast
9:30 7 oz bottle
12:30 lunch
3:00 7 oz bottle (will begin eliminating this bottle next week)
5:30 dinner
7:15 7 oz bottle
He also has a mid morning and mid afternoon snacks.
I think dropping two bottles is extreme too! Some of the reading and recommendations I've seen say that 10 month olds only need a bottle in the morning and at night and get the rest of their nutrition through food.
Here's what else we feed her:
breakfast at 8 am - 3 tbsp oatmeal + 3 oz pureed fruit, or nutrigrain bar, or pancakes or waffles and fruit, or 4 oz yogurt + fresh fruit mixed in + oatmeal on top
lunch at noon - 4 oz fruit, 4 oz veggie (usually table food or finger foods) and biter bisquit/toast/pasta and 4 oz juice/water
dinner at 4 pm - 2 oz fruit, 4 oz veggie, 2-3 oz meat/beans/cheese, and 4 oz juice/water
snack 6 pm - puffs/goldfish/fruit
Maybe we'll just go with her directing us on if she needs all her bottles...I think the morning nap bottle might be the one she will want to cut.
I don't see how it is extreme. We intend to have DS fully off of bottles at 12 months so we are slowly dropping a bottle each month. So, by 12 months, he will no longer be on bottles.
Per pedi, at this age, he only needs 12-18 oz of formula a day - just perfect for 2 bottles.
I only think it is extreme if you are not giving them milk/water/juice in a sippy. My pedi at 1 YEAR said that DD should have between 18-24 oz of liquid a day! I can't believe yours said at 10 months to have as low as 18! Shows how different pedis are! I just think this way....do I ONLY drink liquid at meal time? Do I get thristy through out the day? YES! So if I am thirsty....wouldn't DD be thirsty? She was off all bottles at 11 months and took sippy cup of milk with her meals. She still gets a sippy cup at each meal with milk and drinks almost all of it...so that is between 18-21 oz and then she gets water on the table all day long that she drinks one of those...so another 7oz of liquid! I don't know I think 2 bottles - 14oz is a bit drastic...that is all I am saying. It is just my opinion!
DD doesn't get bottles anymore, but this is what she gets formula wise..
7:30 - 8 oz of formula
8:30 & 12:00 - solids
2-3:00 - whole milk (a couple ounces)
5:00 - snack/6-6:30-dinner
7:30 - 8 oz of formula
Our pedi said to take her down to 16 oz & that we could start a little whole milk. For awhile after that she was still taking 20 oz of formula which was fine by me, I don't push DD to do anything, we ALWAYS have & will go on her cues. Just recently she has started only wanting 16 oz a day, BUT she does get a few ounces of whole milk now.
Wow, you'd think DS would be over-weight by now instead of under-weight and making the Doctors concerned. He was 17 lbs 8 oz at his 9 month check up. I was told to try to get at least 30oz in him daily PLUS three meals.
He has an 8 oz bottle when he wakes up.
He eats fruit and grains for breakfast.
Has another 8oz after his morning nap.
Eats yogurt and something else for lunch.
Has another 8oz bottle after his afternoon nap.
Eats a protein (like egg yolk or meat) and a veggie for dinner
Than has ANOTHER bottle, about 6 oz before bed.
