For those that had early ultrasounds

in May 2011 Moms

How far along were you when you had your first U/S? And were you able to see a heartbeat?

My first U/S is on Wednesday.  I'll be 6 weeks, 2 days.  I'm wondering if that's too early to definitively see a heartbeat.

Curious what other's experiences were.

    I had my first u/s at 7w1d and we were able to see the heartbeat but not hear it.  Good luck at yours!

    My first one was at 6wk and we saw the flicker. My second one at 7wk 1dy, we got the heart rate.

    My u/s last week was at 5wk, 5day and I could very clearly see the heartbeats. 

    Prepare to be amazed.  I knew what I was supposed to see, but actually seeing it was awesome.  The heartbeat looks like a grain of rice jumping on the screen.

    6w4d and there was a clear flickering heartbeat.

    I saw a heartbeat at 6w0d.

    I had my first at 4w3d.  Couldn't see much of anything.  I go for my second a 6w3d, next Thursday.  I can't wait to the little pea.  Hope your's goes wonderfuly.

    We were able to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks.

    I saw a flicker at 6wk 0d.  You won't be able to actually hear the heartbeat until around 8-9 weeks.

    I went in at 7 weeks and could clearly see and hear the heartbeat. 131 bpm!  DH got all choked up, it was sweet.

    We had an u/s at exactly 6 weeks and had a heartbeat...I was actually surprised, thought it might be a bit early.  But there it was!  105bpm.  So there's def. a chance you'll see it!

    Yes, you will likely see a heartbeat at your ultrasound, but don't be panicked if you don't yet. Sometimes the heart is just starting or just about the start at that time. Good luck!

    I was 6w2d, measuring 6w4d and using the vag cam when we saw and heard the heartbeat... The type of u/s they do, makes a difference... GL!!

    6w1d - today!- we saw the heartbeat.  Before beginning, the tech warned me that more often than not, that is too early to see anything.

    My first u/s was at 5W2d and we were able to see both gestational sacs, but no heartbeats yet.  Second u/s was at 6W6d and we saw both heartbeats. 

    6w2d might be a little early, but I have heard of people seeing a heartbeat at the end of their 5th week.

    With my first, we saw the hb at 6w1d and this time we saw teh hb at 6w3d.

    We got to see and hear the hb on an abdominal u/s at 6w0d
    Started Dating 12/7/01

    my first u/s was 4wks 4days, i had a 2nd u/s at 5wks 6days and I could see the heartbeat!

    Today I measured 6w1d and was able to see and hear the heartbeat.  GL!

    My first was at 5 w 5d...and we didn't see anything, two weeks later 7w 5d we saw everything including the flickering heartbeat.
