Ugh Bassinet issues. Show me your non-frilly one

We ordered the Eddie Bauer White on White bassinet and I put it together yesterday. The thing is a piece of crap. The fabric is cheap, the mattress sucks, and it makes a loud scratching sound when it swings! WTF!

All of the ones I have found that aren't frilly/more modern looking are $3-400! We are trying to get one that rocks b/c my mom said I needed to be in constant motion when I was young, I don't want to chance a PNP and have her be screaming her head off when we go to put her to bed.

Anyone have any ideas? What are you getting that isn't frilly and isn't a PNP?

  • We're using the FP Rock n' Play Sleeper -- I guess you could classify it as a bassinet. It's not frilly and folds flat for storage when you're not using it.

    It also gets excellent reviews!

Oh yeah I forgot about that one! Thanks! I'll drag H over to BRU this week to check it out again.

We are using it (LO is only 6 days old) but we LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So easy to move around and LO loves sleeping in it. Not frilly at all and pretty darn affordable!

Cool, thanks! Your LO is so cute!!

If you don't mind my asking-- how do you swaddle him in it and still strap him in? That was my only concern.

Same here.  I love it.  Really easy to put together, tote around for travel if needed, and has a cover that comes off easily for washing.  I also can't complain about the price.

  • I don't know if this is too much $ but

This is the cheapest I found it.  I've heard amazing things about it and it looks more modern.

*butting in* With the swaddling -- from what I've heard/seen,  as long as baby's arms are properly bundled up having their legs loose won't make them feel less secure or comfy. When I watched the Happiest Baby on the Block dvd (which strongly advocates swaddling) they said that containing the arms is the most important part and that if you had to strap them into a swing or whatever with their legs out, it wouldn't affect things.

Cool, thanks! I think we are going to get that one. I appreciate it! :)
