We met the weekend before college started our freshman year. We had just moved into the dorms, and it turned out he lived across the hall from some of my best guy friends from high school. We were introduced that night, and the rest is history!

I guess I should reply to my own question. I was on vacation visiting a childhood friend. DH worked with my friend.My last night in town a bunch of people were going out to dinner/karaoke. Somebody invited DH to come along, and as soon as he showed up we made a b-line towards the other one and you couldn't pull us apart for the rest of the evening. I had to fly home the next day and he sent me a text in the airport asking me out. It took me 6 months to move 2,000 miles to be in the same town but he was worth it! I don't believe in "love at first sight" but I don't know how else to explain it. (gag)

We first met at 20, we were at the same party w/o our significant others. Spent the whole night talking, never did anything or saw each other again. Fast foward to 27, we get set up on a blind date, decided 3 hours into it we were getting married, got married one year later.

At our college there was this gazebo where a bunch of people hung out before and after classes, and discussed everything from philosophy to politics. I was taking philosophy that semester and my TA I had known in high school through a friend. Absolutely fell in love with DH while talking with him, later found out the philosophy TA was his roommate, and we had a few friends in common. It is as if something conspired to make sure we would meet.

He grew up in the cul-de-sac where I previously nannied. He was always away at school and once he graduated, he moved home for the summer. His parents have a pool the kids were allowed to use. Well my H started coming outside a lot and swam with us etc. He asked me to get coffee and the rest is history :-) a year later we were engaged and a year after that we were married.
