2nd time mom birth story

I labored at home for 12 hrs. Contractions started on their own at 5am (was getting induced in 2 days as i was five days late)- and I was home with Gisele and DH doing our thing until 5pm. By 5pm- I knew it was time to get going to the hospital- my contractions were about 3 min apart (good thing I live 5 min away)-

Got checked in and checked and was 7cm. The contractions were right on top of each other- I asked for an epidural by 6pm I asked for one- but had to wait TWO HOURS as the anestesia. dr was in a c-section. (FWIW- that was the HARDEST two hours of my life- I couldn't even breathe between them because there was less than a minute between them- but my nurse ROCKED- DH love him to pieces but is clueless).

Got my epidural and baby was born less than 2hrs later. Three easy pushes and I was holding Chase He weighed the same as Gisele- 6lbs15oz and was 20 3/4 inches. He was very healthy and very alert.

We BF'ed within the first five minutes and he hasn't stopped since. Gisele LOVES Chase and is a great big helper- she likes reading him stories

My first labor was 19hrs from first contraction to pushing baby out. She was 7 days late

This labor was 18hrs. He was 5 days late.

Awesome story! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I'm a 2nd time mom also & I'm planning for the unexpected, but your story really helped me put it in perspective now. Congrats!
