So, we've been circulating something in our house this week. At first LO was sick (Monday), then I was sick Thursday and Friday. I was sleeping 9 hours a night and could barely peel myself out of bed but still went to work those two days. Friday my whole body ached and I was getting chills, etc... Yesterday DH got sick, and he went to bed at 6:00, so I did the bath/bed routine, then got up with LO this morning. Knowing DH he'll sleep most of the day.
Anyone noticed men have WAY less of a tolerance when they are sick? I am still a little sick, and am thinking of waking DH up in a couple hours to help me out regardless if he's sick. I have a full week of work this week and DH has only a couple hours of work tomorrow, so I'd like a little R&R before teh weekly grind starts again.
Re: Men vs. women when they are sick
LOL-thank goodness we are the ones that birth the children! My DH always thinks he "gets it worse" when we both get sick. I felt like I could barely function Friday, but managed to work all day then do the dinner/bath/bedtime routine after work.
Honestly, i think it depends on the illness. I work in healthcare and men are the bigger babies by far when it comes to colds, sore throats, coughs, flus. BUT women are way worse when it comes to sprains, lacerations, and rashes.
Women suck it up b/c they have to, men just whine.
You just described our weekend. I was home with a sick B on Friday. Then DH got sick yesterday and laid around on the couch and slept all day yesterday. The boys didn't bother him once but I had them all day by myself, even though I was also getting sick. Well, sure enough, over night it was my turn. So today I think it's my turn to rest, right? Wrong! I have been helping all day, even though my entire body aches and I'm running a fever.
I'm predicting that E will get sick tonight and need to stay home tomorrow. I've already told DH he can do it because I've got to drag my butt to work tomorrow no matter what.
