41/2 month old with a cold

hey ladies, does anyone know if there is something i can give her for a cold? the dr is closed today and i dont want to call them because it isnt a emergency but she is all stopped up and snotty and coughing.... poor girl

    Emily had a cold a few weeks ago and the doctor said their was nothing we could give her. All you can really do is use an aspirator, a humidifier, and may be put some baby vicks vapor rub on her chest. 

    DD#1 is 3! And LO#2 is on his/her way! Due Feb 26th, 2014.

     

    BFP#1: EDD 5/7/2010 born on 5/20/2010. A little girl named Emily.  

    BFP#2: m/c 10/29/2012 EDD was 6/21/2012 Baby Hope was 6 weeks 3 days. 

    BFP#3: Twin B stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. Found on 8/10/2014. EDD was 2/26/2014. Twin A is still doing great and due date is 2/26/14.

    Saline nasal drops, suction her nose, elevate the head of her crib mattress, humidifier in her room,  Baby Vicks Rub, Tylenol fo aches/pains.

    Colds are awful.  Hope she feels better soon.

    There really isn't anything you can give them.  I use saline drops and then suck the snot out with the blue sucky thing ( cant remember what there called).  Keep LO proped up and maybe try a humidfier.  Hope your LO feels better soon.

    I called the pedi last night (yep - I'm THAT mom) because her eyes were gooey, nose was yellow and runny, and wouldn't eat (thought maybe that was from an ear infection). As PPs said, not much you can do. Definitely elevate her crib, humidifier, and nasal aspirator. He also said Tylenol is fine, especially if she's fussy. It is NOT fun... GL :)

    This.  Megan has a terrible cold right now too. I've had her sleeping in her bouncy seat.  We've been doing 1-2 warm baths a day with the vapor bath. Mostly because she LOVES baths and she's so miserable it makes her feel better for a bit.

    our LO caught our cold now too. If you are BFing you can increase your vit C so you can pass it along.
