no way man. this freakin kid is so cuddly i don`t have a *choice* on wrapping her or not! we went two looong months before being able to purchase a wrap, and i don`t think i put her down once. now, she`s 6.5 months and has no desire to do a back carry, a hip carry, or even a front facing out. sorry my baby`s huggier than yours, lady
but it`s genetics.
Re: bwing.... backhanded compliment?
Being a snuggly baby is bad?
I would just say something like "oh, is your child kind of despondent? That's too bad....."
If people are rude to me, I'm rude back. They brought it on themselves.
did she mean it as an insult? no one can remember the names of my carriers - even when she was using it, my sister referred to the beco as "this strappy thing."
I do agree with her - I think wearing your baby helps foster snuggliness, if only because your baby never has to wonder if mommy wants a hug, too ;-)
I didn't read anything rude in there. Maybe I had to hear how she said it.
You can tell her not to worry about it. My DS loves to be held, worn, snuggled in bed, tickled, sleep on Daddy, and physically played with but he will not ever lay his head on my shoulder. I can pick him up from a deep sleep and he will hold his head up. Even in the beginning, he would rarely sleep on us with his head on our shoulders. It makes me a little sad. I wear him all the time, even now, but he wants to see what is going on. It doesn't make him any less snuggly and loving, just different. Her baby may be the same way.
