I guess having a fingertip is overrated....OUUUCCCHH!!!!!
I just sliced the SH!T out of my finger making dinner!! Holy crap OOOOWWWWW!!! It cut through my fingernail into my nail bed a little....not pleasant!! Not sure if I should go to the Care Now and have it looked at or not. I was able to get the bleeding under control...now I'm just not sure if it will heal it's self or not. Might need to be glued or something? Guess I'll be snacking on Tylenol for a while and waiting for 1/3 of my nail to fall off....boooo! 
BTW - double the blood volume is not cool when one cuts themselves. Eeww.

Yikes. Get the rubbing alcohol out to sterlize it. Depending on what you were cutting & what was on the knife, infection can be an issue.
I stabbed myself in the fleshy part of my palm by using a knife to get the foil off a wine bottle (I'm so smrt!). It went in about 1/2 inch. After applying pressure, elevation & sterlizing the cut, I knew it was too deep for neosporin/bandaid but not a huge stab wound. I actually debated if the small, but bleeding cut warranted a $300 ER co-pay. I ended up using superglue which worked perfectly (and learned this became "common" on the battlefied in Vietnam).
