I am looking for others experiences on this subject. We are unable to get our anatomy scan until my new insurance kicks in and I really want to see baby. I am so excited about seeing my little one and finding out the gender. My family can't wait to start buying LO stuff. This is the first grandchild in DH and I's family so is been an exciting journey so far.
Please share with me how accurate this experience was for you. I am 18 weeks on Monday. Can the sonographer get the sex wrong this far into the pregnancy. I found a sonographer for 15 years and owns her own business doing this. She is having a current special 50% off the normal price of $99 to find out the sex and get a few pictures. I'm super excited.
(I do not want to hear anyone tell me to just be happy my baby is healthy and I shouldn't be so anxious to find out the sex. Of course I'm happy and greatful my baby is healthy!)
Re: Elective Ultrasound for Gender Determination
No experience here but I've seen a couple posts, and known people who were told X and were actually pregnant with Y. I think after 20 weeks is suppose to be when things are more accurate so you may want to wait until then.
I know it's hard to wait, I'm team green so I have a long wait, but think of the next couple weeks as a way to figure out how to announce what LO is.
I know most of those elective places have a time limit on the ultrasound so remember that your baby may not cooperate within that time period. Some babies just don't want to open their legs! But for $50 it would be worth a try!
We're doing an elective 3d ultrasound next Saturday to find out the sex! Of course we could wait until the middle of October for our anatomy scan... LOL
We did the 3d ultrasound with my dd and LOVED the experience so we decided to do it again! We're going out to Lafayette (from New Orleans) and making a weekend trip out of it.
I have family out there so we'll be staying with them. Im so excited!!! 8D
I had my elective u/s at 15w 2d and it was obvious it was a boy (confirmed at 19w and 24w). I wouldn't hesitate to get an elective scan at 18w.
FWIW, the elective place I went to starts doing sex determination scans at 16 weeks. They let me come in a few days early b/c of an upcoming holiday.
