Bella Band question

I didn't use one with my son, but already clothes are not fitting.

So my question is: is it worth the 30 bucks for them, and how big/small do they run? I am started out between a 14-16, and that is the size change. I have no hips what so ever so I am leaning towards the smaller one, but I wanted to hear from people who use them first.

TIA

Re: Bella Band question

  • Get the target version!  It's half the price!  I don't like using it with unbuttoned pants, but I know plenty who do.  I loved using it to hold up maternity pants before my belly was big enough though.

  • I have two of the Target BeBands and they are fine, but really I would just go straight to maternity pants if you still have some.
  • I got the version they sell at Motherhood.  I thought it was worth it--I was able to put off maternity pants for another month or two with it, and that was definitely worth it for me.  I plan to use it again this pregnancy once my pants start getting snug.

    Not sure about sizing.

  • Like one of the other posters said, if you are gonna get one, get one from Target. As far as sizing, there is a size chart on the package so you can figure out which one will be the right size. (at least on the BeBand ones)

  • I have 2 or 3 bella bands my twin gave to me. Luckily I am fitting into normal clothing still, so I haven't had to use them yet.  But her Bella bands are one size fits all.  I've found tho that when I wear my skinnier jeans, undershirts that run x-long and a hairband around the button have been really beneficial, and you can't tell I haven't buttoned my jeans.  My mom also bought me this fancy button contraption where you put a jean button next to the existing one for a little more room.

This. I don't need it yet but when I do I will be getting the Target version.

  • Definitely get the target ones. I can't remember what the size chart said, but I was right in between and got the next size up and am glad I did. I used it for a while, but I'm glad I switched to maternity pants at 8 weeks. I actually am wearing maternity pants with the BeBand over the top. They're a little lose, but it's still so much more comfortable than just wearing the beband with my pants unbuttoned.

  • Go to Amazon or eBay. They sometimes sell them new in lots for WAY cheaper!

This is what I've been doing.  I put my belt on over the hairband part as well as my longer shirts and you can't tell I haven't buttoned my jeans.  My skinny jeans are actually more comfortable than regular jeans right now, I think because they are low rise.

I also have a few pairs of pants and shirts from when I weighed about 10 lbs. heavier so I think those should be able to get me through until it's time to break out the maternity clothes my sister gave me.

  • i wore mine a lot with my last pregnancy and i went with a size medium (i am a size 10 with hips) i wore it a ton at work as a nurse b/c it felt like it gave a little extra support. i did find though between sitting and getting up back and forth it would start to roll up a little, but overall it was helpful. i think target makes cheaper ones.
  • They are on sale at Target this week!!! (at least where I'm from--Buffalo, NY).  I went and bought one today but haven't tried it yet.
