I was wondering about when you find out you were (if you are obviously) or might be carring twins. It runs in my family and I would love to be having twins. But my doctor said its too soon to tell.
Hi. I found out about my twin boys when I was 6 weeks 4 day because I had some bleeding so they did an u/s to rule out miscarriage.
I may be able to help out out with the liklihood though. You say twins run in your family? Fraternal twins are the only type that is hereditary and it pretty much has to be passed down through your mother's side of the family (your dad can pass it down as well but I don't think it's as common). So do you have fraternal twins on your mother's side of your family?

Do you know anything about how likely it is if you do have them on your mothers side??? My grandmother conceived two sets of fraternal twins and your post has me wondering.......
Either your dad or your mom can give you the gene for hyperovulation; it's just that your husband's family Hx doesn't increase your chances of having twins.
I found out I was having twins at my u/s at 11w5d. How far along are you? Have you had a u/s yet? Why do you want twins? They're great but I'll warn you, twin pregnancies are high-risk and the newborn stage (let alone the toddler years) is usually extremely stressful and exhausting.

I am 11 weeks. I have had some u/s but the sac is always bigger than it was with my other children. I have twins on my moms side (she had triples, my cousins all have twins, and such). I just think it would be and awesome thing, and that way I can have four kinds with out having another pregnancy, lol. I have been overly sick, overly tired, and so on.

Are you in Richmond? I could have sworn I saw that before.
