We are keeping Chloe's name a secret from everyone IRL. (DH wants something to be a surprise when she's born.) We did the same thing with DS and it drove my mom crazy. I guess it's getting to her more this time because I get an email from her yesterday saying that she and the ladies at work are calling her Belle, short for Isabelle.

WTF? I sent her an email back and told her that she could call her that if she wants (although it bothers me a little) but that is not her name.

If my mom did that, I'd just laugh at her. You should make up an awful name & tell her to start calling the baby that.

My sister called me early on and asked if I liked Joey or Roo better - the baby needed a nickname.

But the baby came up with his/her own nickname at the first u/s - we call him Hellboy.

I woudln't worry about your mom. She'll be happy with whatever name you give the baby.

I think I might be bothered. Especially as moody and irritable as I am now, I might be a little mad, but seriously don't listen to me...it's the hormones talking!

Annoying, but fine if you didn't already choose a nickname yourself. My parents are calling our baby Elmer. *shrug*
